Antediluvian Miniatures recently previewed a new set of 28mm Historical miniatures for you to use as part of your Irish armies during your games set against the backdrop of the Dark Ages and the Early Medieval period (and beyond!). See what you think of these new Paul Hicks sculpts.

Irish Command #1 - Antediluvian Miniatures

Irish Command // Antediluvian Miniatures

We start with the Irish Command set. This comes with four great characters that could be great for leading a warband or army on the tabletop. Going from left to right, you have a champion of sorts, clad in mail and ready with his polearm/bardiche to cut down someone on horseback, perhaps. Next, you have the banner bearer who has an empty hand, ready for a standard. I suppose this could also be the heroic leader of your force as well, if you wanted to show them taking command.

Irish Command #2 - Antediluvian Miniatures

The second half of the set features another champion or perhaps a priest, holy man or some other mystic figure. They have managed to pilfer themselves a plate-clad piece of armour from someone they've killed. He's also carrying a pretty fearsome-looking sword. Maybe that's his sword, or it could well be the sword of his master and he looks after it?

The previews also revealed a set of Irish Light Cavalry that will be joining the range. Another great set of hit-and-run cavalry who can be used to harass enemy formations.

Irish Light Cavalry - Antediluvian Miniatures

Irish Light Cavalry // Antediluvian Miniatures

The Irish Light Cavalry here joins the existing miniature from Antediluvian, namely their Kerns and Kern Bowmen. You could have these cavalry riding around, drawing in the enemy before the Kerns launch their ambush from the woods nearby.

If you're interested in diving in and checking out more, you can explore the Historical range by Antediluvian, which might spark some ideas for a new army or two.

Will you be picking up these new Irish miniatures?
