Warlord Games continues to tell the story of Konflikt '47, their excellent Weird World War wargame, with a new book that's available to pre-order right now. Invasion Amerika is coming soon, alongside a selection of fun new miniatures for both the Americans and the Empire of Japan.

Invasion Amerika - Konflikt 47

Invasion Amerika // Konflikt '47

Whilst the breaches in reality known as the Rifts are well-known amongst the warring nations in Konflikt '47, there are secret events happening on the island fortress of Iwo Jima. The Empire of Japan has developed something new in secret.

The clashes in Europe rage on but the Pan-Atlantic Alliance fights a holding war in the Far East and Pacific. With Invasion Amerika, the second supplement for Konflikt '47, you'll see the changing history and background to the Rift War. The focus moves to the Empire of Japan's expansionist ambitions and an unexpected attack on the heartland of the United States.

Inside the book, you'll find new photography, artwork and illustrations, plus a timeline breakdown of the goings-on in Invasion Amerika alongside short stories, game scenarios and more.

The book also comes with a miniature representing a trooper in the T2 Prototype Heavy Armour. The US are going to be unleashing whatever they can to make sure they hold back this invasion, whether it's ready or not!

New Konflikt '47 Characters

Alongside the book, you also have some new and returning characters. "Slammer" Samuels, The First Paragon, is back with a new miniature, for instance.

Slammer Samuels The First Paragon - Konflikt 47

"Slammer" Samuels The First Paragon // Konflikt '47

This new plastic miniature for Slammer features the legendary soldier getting ready to lay the smackdown on some unfortunate foe that has dared to contemplate getting too close.

"...winning the Silver Star for single-handedly taking out a German Tiger Tank in Tunisia, Samuels was later promoted to the rank of captain just prior to the D-Day invasion. Badly wounded on Omaha beach, he was transferred back to the USA for treatment and presented with the opportunity to volunteer for a radical new treatment, one only made possible by the advent of the Los Alamos Rift, that would irrevocably alter his biology. Being a true American of fine character and recognising the potential of the program to shift the balance of power in favour of the United States, Harris readily accepted the risks and became the first subject of the new program. Samuels would, following a long and arduous process, become the program’s first success; his physical transformation was to become a benchmark, a paragon of the potential of humanity."

Slammer comes armed with one of the first experimental Heavy Tesla Rifles and makes good use of his signature weapon, the Tesla Gauntlet. This means that Slammer is able to take on both infantry and armoured targets, shunting them out of the way or turning them into a frazzled red mist.

Another plastic miniature is on the way for the Empire of Japan. See what you make of the strange, mystical Kimura Tadaaki, Scourge of the Spirit Realm.

Kimura Tadaaki Scourge of the Spirit Realm - Konflikt 47

Kimura Tadaaki, Scourge of the Spirit Realm // Konflikt '47

Kimura Tadaaki was a test pilot for the Imperial Japanese Army and would seemingly have been killed when a ghost engine exploded, wreathing him in Rift energy. Somehow, he survived and became something more than just a regular human. Despite yearning for death, he now occupied Shinobi space and realised that he had now developed the ability to manipulate energy within him, allowing him to control constructs but also phase through reality.

He has now become a deadly soldier, mastering his abilities and now wearing a unique set of armour. The armour helps him contain and control the energy within him but also boosts the morale of those around him. An ancient Samurai ghost taking to the battlefield to cut through your foes sounds like an inspiration to me.

The set comes with the plastic miniature for Kimura Tadaaki but also three Shinobi Shadows.

New Empire of Japan Troops

As well as the new characters, there is also a new plastic set for the Empire of Japan with their Ghost Attack Infantry.

Ghost Attack Infantry - Konflikt 47

Ghost Attack Infantry // Konflikt '47

These "Ghosts" wear special suits and generators that allow them to phase through objects and people within the world around them, meaning they can attack from seemingly nowhere through heavy terrain. These soldiers are armed with Shibory compression rifles, which allow them to lay down fire and then vanish before the enemy knows what has happened. The set can also introduce close-quarters specialists with submachine guns and hand-to-hand weapons of old, like the katana.

The set comes with fifteen plastic miniatures that can be built as a Ghost Attack Squad or a Shadow Warrior Squad. A great unit to use alongside the spirit-like Kimura Tadaaki.

All of these miniatures and a bundle of different options for those looking to play as the US and Japan can be found over on the pre-order section of the Warlord Games website.

Are you going to be picking up these new miniatures?
