    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    https://www.ontabletop.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/

    https://www.ontabletop.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is The Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

If you fancy to see some nice WIP pictures go to the WAYPN thread https://www.ontabletop.com/forums/topic/what-are-you-painting-now-2025-edition/

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Question of the week:

    • What status is your Spring Clean project?

And now back to the show.

    Pledge: finish the ‘nids!

Answer: Doing better than I would have expected. In part due to the fact I just went out and bought stuff when I needed it. Regardless of “funds available”. But look for yourself:

    Bugs! Everywhere!

Pledge:  Get the supplement book written to go with the SCC Dogs of War.

Answer:  I put the brush down this morning on the last bit of detail work on the final unit.  So strictly speaking I’m done.  However, I set myself the task of also writing my version of a supplement book to go with my army and the rules I’m using (Midgard: Heroic Battles).  I’m about a third of the way through.  I still have about half of the unit fluff pieces and most of the images to do.  The army list is finished and all of the unit stats are done and on the document already.  I should get it done, as long as I don’t waste too much time watching the sportball.

Well done @sundancer on your progress, very impressive.  I’ve painted ‘Nids before and did not find it very motivating.  You should get yours done soon.

In honour of the sportball here’s a bit of silliness.  Glenn Hoddle is havin’ a goal!

This week’s pledge is to do the bases on my elemental town Heroes 3 minis. One of which will be my painting competition entry.

    • What status is your Spring Clean project? – Got to admit I don’t have one.

    Status ?
I discovered the deep deep rabbit hole that is Open Claw … (sadly my local hardware is not powerful enough. you really need a beast of a machine or subscribe to cloud-based AI like Ollama offers. Which I don’t want as that is one more monthly subscription for something that is stupendously fun when it works … and I’ve seen it working.)

maybe next year I will be motivated enough ?

Pledge: Try to get some airbrushing done on the Phoenix miniatures.

As for the Spring Clean Project… the painting has been on hold for about a month as Phoenix was somewhat daunting and I’ve been writing my related RPG campaign, but I have started her now.

I did pretty good on the project which was a mixture of stuff I had and stuff I bought, but a health scare demanded I found something to distract me and Marvel Crisis Protocol was my choice of distraction.

Although I’m not pleased with all the paint jobs on the minis, some came out ok and I now have more than enough stuff to use in MCP if I ever get chance to play it.

Pledge: since it’s looking like a rain week ahead (gross), do more Nurgle Old World.

    Spring Clean: I haven’t even started last year’s project, so that’s … a miss?

Last sunny day for a week today, off for a ride to the mountains with a couple of friends.

    Monday

    Rainy

    Wet Office Day.

More coffee needed.  Might continue on the ‘nids tonight if I can muster the energy.

Pledge: get in a first game of Marvel Crisis Protocol, and a second game of Guards of Traitor’s Toll, before the end of the month.

Spring Clean: more or less finished. My project was to get some unplayed games to the table, and I managed to play at least one each of four different games. There are a few I want to spend some more time with, but probably not before the challenge deadline.

Spring Clean Challenge: Every Game is Miniatures Agnostic

Music: I’ve been listening to a lot of goth music lately (not sure why), so here’s a classic of the genre:

I spent my day riding to refuel (forgot before coming home yesterday) and then cleaning bug guts from the ride. So much bug guts… 🤮

@limburger that’s a good video of the before-Contrast times, really good memories of how things used to be done to speed paint. Actually watched the whole video! That guy’s Painting room makes me happy inside, like a new puppy.
