So stoked for this game. Loving Blood & Plunder, and this is a great way to finally get a true fleet on the table (me being Dutch, that would be Piet Hein or Michiel de Ruyter)!

Exactly the same here m8! Those 40 (!!) winter Russians are more than enough to have a good starting force, after which you can just augment with K’47 goodness.
Loving the bears, can’t wait to see the other sculpts of the Daughters!

Yeah he has that slight Pinocchio feel. Still, I can’t really think of a better spot; mounting it on the top would probably make it keel over every time it fires. 🙂

Good point (badumtish) about forcing your opponent to move his squads simply by shooting at them, even if you don’t actually cause damage. Never quite looked at it that way. Word about the mortar vs. the howitzer (loike the 25pdr) or even howitzer on a vehicle (like the StuH): the mortar slot doesn’t compete with […]

They look great, but imho they are hardly revolutionary. The term ‘troglodyte’ is, by way of exception, used correctly to denote a cave dweller, but they look like relatively generic hairy goblins/kobolds/yadayada. Promising, and I’ll keep an eye on this game, but that’s it.

Nice one, Swampy! It might also have something to do with your set-up around the table. As Swampy will most likely talk to Warren, he has his back to Mike. That makes it easier to ‘ignore’ him, talk over him, etc. I know the standard set-up you guys have is that Warren is to the […]

I love it how Warren keeps on saying ‘the Hellcannon sucks off its crew’, hoping for a reaction from the boys, not getting one and then slyly smiling. Brings back memories of Blood Angels Week… 🙂

This thing would be massive even if it was a 3-up. It’s not, is it?
If not, then this MUST be resin or plastic, it would be impossible in metal.
Holy crap I love this fig. -

Yeah, I think you’re right – many ppl assume vehicles to be dead so cut down on anti-vehicle weapons. It’s a vicious circle, we are likely to see some ebb and flow on this as 6th ed. progresses. Aside from that, several armies (mainly Nids and Orks) still have difficulty taking care of the heavier […]

The helmets really are that big. There are quite a few left over from those days, and you can bet the designers had a close look at them. Logical, though. Chainmail coif, padding, and then the helmet. Just look at how big a motorcycle helmet is these days. And those don’t have spread wings or […]

Great new feature, guys! Love the simplicity and singlemindedness of lists like these and the fact that it essentially allows for lots of customisation as only so few FOC slots are used. However, in previous posts where lists were discussed you posted the actual lists. I always thought that was a handy feature. Could you […]

Yup, my thoughts EXACTLY. The command group is slightly better, but still meh. And it’s pewter, which is precisely what you don’t want for 28mm regiments of relatively same looking dudes. Also, single piece – what the hell? This is the kind of stuff we saw 15 years ago.

All I can say is: just imagine how much work this model would be if it was still in metal. Or from Forge World (now there’s a company with shoddy product control). In fact, I know how much work it was, cuz I have these things in metal. Finecast is a godsend. I certainly like […]

Really? I think this one is decidedly empty. The GW could be thought of as too full, but all those buildings are detachable and can be used on other parts of your table. Most of the detail work is similar. I wouldn’t pay 90+ quid for that piece of terrain, while I’ve been wanting to […]

Beast of Nurgle – the eyes even seem to be in the pattern of the Nurgle symbol.

You could argue that they started it with the last incarnation of the High Elf dragon kit. That was a major departure from their normal design on large creatures. And after the Arachnarok spider came the TK’s big beasties. This is certainly a trend, and even GW staff tell me this.
