The massive Konflikt '47 Sturmriese that some of you might have seen at UK Games Expo last year is now available as a free STL download from Warlord Games so that you can print your own version of this at home for use in your games!
Sturmriese // Konflikt '47
The Sturmriese came out of Warlord Games wanting to make something of a statement about the new version of Konflikt '47 hitting the table and they certainly managed to do that. Jim Butler of Warlord Games talked about the development of the idea under Jon Heeney and Wojciech into the massive centrepiece that you see here.
"The idea was to build a model that really demonstrated how the Green Vault were exploiting the power of the Rifts to realise their colossal ambition, something that Dan (Hewitson, Konflikt ’47 lead writer) could incorporate into the narrative."
As Warlord have said, this miniature was never intended for production as it's just insane, so the next step, considering how the Sturmriese was woven into the narrative of Konflikt '47, was to make it available as a free download so that folks can print off their own version of the "miniature" and use it in their own games.

If you have access to the Festung Europa book, then you'll know more about the Sturmriesen and how they work under the command of the Axis. Whilst you're unlikely to be folding a miniature like this into all of your games, it's something that could be really good fun for a scenario-driven game at your local club or as part of a campaign where the Allies and other factions have to try and take and hold these (or destroy them), removing them from the clutches of the Axis.

If you're interested in getting your hands on the Sturmriese for use in your own games of Konflikt '47, you can download the files for free HERE thanks to Warlord Games. You can also find out more about the design process behind bringing it to life in their article HERE.
I hope that this marks the start of more fun and creative projects like this within Warlord Games. Having more insane scenario-based pieces like this would be great for any campaigns that follow this one.
What do you make of the towering Sturmriese and will you be printing one?
