Darrell your unboxings are legend!!! Brush up on your chaos god symbols and I really do want you to have another go at describing the chaos faces you can put on your gun barrels 🙂
haha, I think they look like dragon heads to me
Darrell it could have been worse, he could have showed you sucking your thumb 😉
Good unboxing though and some nice info on options to take.
got one for chaos, and i love it 😀
Let’s hope Justin also has the feel no pain rule…
LOL I see Darrell being a follower of Khorne “Blood for the blood god” 😉
The symbol you’ve stuck on is Khorne, and the screaming face thing at the back is a Dirge Caster- always irked my how that goes on the same mount as the search light.
The chaos codex shows its age against the imperial version with the vindicator I think, for the same points the Imperial one can take the siege shield and it gets a free storm bolter, then it can take another storm bolter and/or a hunter killer, poor old chaos marines have to chose if they want a twin linked bolter a combi-bolter or the havoc launcher. Personally though I never use the imperial version because as Darrell says one shaken or stunned and a smart opponent will move on to shooting at something else, a weapon destroyed and its a rhino nobody can get in. The chaos version with Daemonic possession you need to actually blow the gun off to stop it shooting, it might be more expensive but its definitely much better value for points. I wouldn’t overlook the flamer quite as quickly as Darrell though, I’d still opt for the Havoc most of the time, but a combi weapon gets to fire as well as the demolisher if the tank moved less than 6″ and the flamer will always hit, might get you out of being melta bombed by IG veterans or an eldar storm squad etc, there’s always the chance a marine will fail his save and you should hit more of them than with a bolter or a melta. With the short range of the main gun you might find infantry up close a lot more than you’d expect which is were the flamer would pay off.
Yeah I’m not sold on the vindicator, I think you have to be too close and its too easy to neutralise. With a medusa you can hide it a bit that extra 12 inches makes a large difference. The model looks great though with its siege shield.
i love demonic possession but lowering the BS always bothers me a bit
With a blast weapon you still have a 2 in six change to hit, and when you miss its only an inch less, if you’re firing the demolisher at infantry you need to roll a 7 on two dice(or 8 if its on a terminator sized base) once you take into account the width of the model’s base and the diameter of the template before the model you placed the template on isn’t hit.
The shield looks good but offers no benefit as chaos tanks can only move up to 6 inches to get re-roll on rough terrain rather than the 12 inches for space marines!
Love your videos Darrel and your uncanny ability to find cheese. Always looking forward to see your next work.
