I am picking this project back up. Going to repaint all my Dark Angels and build it up to a full battle company with support units. The game system I am focussing on is Warhammer 40k 7th edition. But the majority of it is compatible with everything down to 2nd. So it just depends on whatever I end up playing and whether I can get people to play older (and better) editions of 40k. The premise is to go really realistic with its appearance and embrace the true grimdark nature of the 40k universe before it was ruined by Games Workshop. Using various kitbashes and additional grimdark details to models where I feel needed. So, yes this army will be pre-primaris heresy and will not include any of the newer stuff.

All stripped.

As you can see all the old models, apart from the Predator, have been stripped and are ready to be reassembled and repainted. For the Predator I just need some more paint stripper. Bases for the majority of the existing models have been prepared as well, all magnetised as well for easy transport.

On a side note, for anyone still looking for the old drop pod kit, which in my and many others’ opinion is far superior than the new one, the Horus Heresy Legiones Astarted Drop Pod is just the old kit.
