North Star’s 28mm Three Musketeers Collection Expands

North Star Military Figures has now released its awesome new 28mm-scale miniatures for its 1672 Three Musketeers collection. Mace Face Miniatures sculpted these Historical swashbucklers!

We start with some flamboyant and dashing new Gentlemen who are fencing their way through a skirmish somewhere in the depths of a manor house. They are all in some great poses that scream "En Garde!" I can already hear the swish of the swords cutting through the air and the clash of steel! I like that they have their handkerchiefs on hand as well, just in case they need to mop their brows.

It's not just the gentlemen getting stuck into the fighting. Milady de Winter is no stranger to a bit of swashbuckling herself, or maybe even Constance Bonacieux if you were to delve into the BBC adaptation (which I quite enjoyed).

Again, they look brilliant and come in a variety of poses which show them in the midst of a proper clash of arms. I really like the lady rushing forward, hiking up her dress so she can get stuck in. The other lady on the far right is also properly going for it!

Those Gentlemen and Ladies might find themselves coming up against these Soldiers. They could also be on their side depending on how you paint these swordsmen. If you painted them in some darker colours, they could be the servants of Cardinal Richelieu!

The cool poses continue. I particularly like the fellow who is drawing his sword and looking daggers at the target of his ire. They look uniform enough that they would be great fodder for you to consider across all sorts of games and scenarios.

Last but not least, we have the Wealthy Bystanders who are going to be excellent NPCs for you to consider dropping into your games. You have two gentlemen and two ladies who could even be the focus of your attention in a scenario! I could see the left-hand lady being your Milady, for example.

You could have been sent to protect and/or get rid of these important and influential characters. Maybe you need to tail them through the streets without drawing too much attention to yourself? Another set of brilliant sculpts that you could use for all sorts of different skirmish games.

The one that comes to mind is, of course, En Garde! from the folks at Osprey Games. It has been designed as a small skirmish game, so this range of figures from North Star would be perfect.
