About the Project

I have been collecting for the Zulus War for years in 28mm but with the release of the Warlord games kits I'm hoping to work towards playing Isandlwana at a smaller scale

One sprue seems.to cover one unit of unmarried zulus. They are designed so you can put as little or as many on a stand as you want as they could be in open order. Once I've finished I'll see what minis are left over and fill some gaps in the line. One sprue seems.to cover one unit of unmarried zulus. A| long time ago I completed my Zulu war collection in 28mm with over 500 Zulus painted up and every British unit for the war represented. I've done a couple of projects in the past covering the collection as well as my terrain build for Rorkes Drift. With the release of the Warlord Games box sets I was at first not interested but I got to thinking about Isandlwana and how difficult it is to pull off in larger scales. I had no interest in the Rorkes Drift set because I feel it works fine at 28mm and I have no interest in it when I have such a good board set up for it already.A| long time ago I completed my Zulu war collection in 28mm with over 500 Zulus painted up and every British unit for the war represented. After chatting with my brother we got the idea that it would be neat to have a Zulu war day where we play Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift in one day as a sort of double bill gaming day. It would be even better if we did it for the anniversary next January 23rd-24th which is a weekend so perfect. The plan is to play epic scale Isandlwana followed by 28mm Rorkes Drift. ALl I need to do is paint up the epic scale box set and make sure I have a suitable gaming table to cover that first battle. So this project has a deadline of three months starting now. Unfortunatley I have had a change of circumstances as I am adopting two children who will be eating up a lot of my time so I wont be able to spend so much time on hobbies. My pile of potential is already large but now I can add another horde of zulus to a time sensitive project. We will see if I pull it off. At least I only have to work towards one of the two battles. The plan is to play epic scale Isandlwana followed by 28mm Rorkes Drift.
