@pagan8th not really “around the corner”. It’s 230km how the crows fly. Too far for a relaxed day trip and way to expensive for a weekend away with the family. And last time I was there it was so crowded it really wasn’t fun most of the time.

@limburger to be honest my game could port over to fantasy very easily. I thought about doing stat cards and weapon profiles for the rampage miniatures set i have of fantasy goblins.

Isn’t Essen just around the corner from you @sundancer?

SMC was crowded and hot indeed. Did a little bit of shopping. The hall with the painting competition entries was so crowded, people were standing two or three rows thick to watch the models. I went in and out in about five minutes. Next week Essen will be crowded too, but I have two days, so I can take my time.

I have 4 Revell Star Wars kits.

X-Wing (1:57 scale)
Slave (1:88)
Snowspeeder (1:52)
Falcon (1:72)

Obviously for wargaming the scales are all over the place, but I’ve used them as objectives and terrain in RPGS’s and skirmish games.

I think Essen has some sort of package posting service so you don’t have to carry everything back home.
Not sure how expensive and reliable that is though.

Essen and the UKGE are probably the only big events that I’d ever want to experience at least once.

I’m back from the SMC in Veldhoven. It was very crowded and hot inside.

I toyed with idea of essen once, but I would have to go by train from UK because paying the excess baggage on all the stuff I bought would be bad…

Also… trains are more fun and relaxing… with plane you get to look at sky and feel like a sardine in a tin. trains you can move around, see the countryside and relax.

Essen? Are you maaaaad? It’s full of people there! XD
