my 2026 hobby

A small update this month, not as much as i would have liked to get done, with only 18 minis painted, however very pleased with what i had got painted.

First off…wouldn’t be a Balthazaar hobby update without a bit of Trench Crusade….

I absolutely love the Cruciform Order of St George models from Hollowcrown miniatures, so was very excited when they announced that soon they will be expanding the range.

The Heavy Mech Lt and the large giant with machine gun will be joining my current campaign band, whilst the Shocktroopers will be ready waiting for the next recruitment drive.

Finally, this will make Ben happy, some Burrows and Badgers! I recently gave some friends in our Trench Crusade group some demos of the game, and now theres a group of about 3-4 of us planning warbands and potentially starting a campaign. Oathswords B&B minis are my absolutely favourite  miniatures range to paint, I can’t express enough how easy they are to paint, and how much fun they are. For this batch i picked up all of the Tunneljack themed miniatures, and two otter miniatures that I had wanted to pick up for ages. If we do manage to get a campaign going, these won’t be my warband however. Instead i ordered all of the ghasts, as well as a couple models to use as my leader and second, for a Necromancers band. I was reading through the necromancy spell list and absolutely loved them, so will be looking foward to painting up them.

As I write this, I’m currently churning out Dropzone Commander, attempting to get my two 3rd edition starter sets painted, ready to hold demos for the game, so they will feature in my October update.
