I really like this game and I think I will back it. For the past two years I have been slowly migrating to these contained, hybrid miniature/board games. Godtear, Aristeia, Underworlds, now a similar concept but in space. I am still a tabletop miniature wargamer at the core, but it is getting harder to find people willing to invest time and resources into building armies. Also,it is nice to see Justin again (the heart of the team imho).
It’s a much bigger gaming space than I’d expected which is nice to see and I like the option of adding a board to enlarge the game. It’s great to see you guys sitting around the table for a let’s play. The tabletop simulator has been a great resource but I do like the old school of Ordinance Executive officer Justin v Space Captain Gerry rolling dice. Looks like an enjoyable game to me. I feel like I should apologise for not backing this as I’m committed to other kickstarters but the game looks well planned out, designed and I hope it does well.
True, it is nice to see gamers game on a tabletop again. It’s the heart of the hobby imho.
I definitely agree with Justin. The torpedoes felt too instantaneous.
They seemed so much more powerful than the broadside batteries, and had relatively no counter-play.
The game looks neat, but it seems a little too ‘small and fast’ for what it was trying to represent. Would have been neat to see more counter-play, and for things to not resolve over the course of only two actions, max.
