I am probably not use to modern gaming where there are so many rules to play a game. Awesome miniatures and fantasy at 1/72 scale which is a bonus but the amount of rules in this game beats me off purchasing it. I love the fact that it is hex based and on a small area, trying to close down the scale of my wargaming these days to something portable, wargaming in a box.
I wish the company well with this game but what is wrong in keeping the game simple – simple to play, but with, tactics, hard to master.
Yes, it does appear to be more complicated/fiddly than it needs to be. Battlelore did the same with much less (a shame that game is out of print).
I thought dice with 2 swords would be 2 attack, and 2 shields, would be 2 defence? Throws me off a bit. I backed this project, but I am worried that they are based out of the Ukraine. Lets be honest… the future is just a little chaotic there.
Hope everyone involves stays safe.
This game has awesome future potential.
I like the activation and tactical card mechanics, but I’m not sure there’s enough here to set this apart from other mini games to make a commitment. Maybe a good gateway game between board and minis? The market is a bit flooded with plastic!
Looks like a great game, certainly one I’d like to play. It would have been nice to see a couple of other factions, even if just conceptually for the future and a 3d print file option. The game lends itself to doing it this way for the units, but i get who manufacturers as still very hesitant to do this. In this case I would think sales and profit would be greater than supplying physical objects from the Ukraine.
The big unfortunate elephant in the room is well the current situation. Well beyond Signum for sure and not something to be taken lightly. It inevitably puts a question mark over the feasibility of this project.
HAIL HYDRA.
An intriguing hybrid wargame. I like the very tactical nature of it all but the cards adding a note of randomness to the affair each activation. Certainly one for those who like a more involved gaming experience but that’s a good thing I reckon!
That’s a great looking fun quick hack an slash game. A brilliant game’s video guy’s.
I was watching a cracking game on youtube of battle masters and thought about the idea of a “re-design” of it in a smaller figure scale… and looks like they did it. I watch the play though myself later this week
