#UPDATE 2 - Basing & Priming
Once the miniatures had been printed, supports removed then cured, they were cleaned up using a modelling knife to get rid of any remaining support lumps.
Then using Super Glue Gel, attached the miniatures to the 28mm bases.
After that it was time to put basing material down, I used some normal (runny) superglue and spread it out across the base with a wooden toothpick.
I placed one or two small stones on the base to look like rocks, and sand was then carefully and slowly poured across the glue.
The first one I did too fast and the superglue soaked up into the sand and it clumped up.
Once I was happy it was all dry, Chaos Black Primer was sprayed all over the miniatures, then an hour later sprayed Wraithbone primer for a warm white at a top-down 45 degree angle.
#UPDATE 1 - Resin 3D Printing
Happy Halloween, everyone!
To start this project off, I decided to go with 3D printing a gang in resin, as it’s been a while since my last project.
And after many hours of searching, settled on a choice of files from a few different sources.
For “The Baron” gang, it needs the Baron himself, a Juggernaut, Witch and some Cursed Zombies to get started.
So, for the Baron and the Witch, I went with “Voodoo Necromancers Team” by Calaverd3D, which can be found on MyMiniFactory.
Next, for the Juggernaut, I went with “The Miller Zombie brute” by Duncan Shadow, also on MyMiniFactory.
Then for the cursed Zombies, “Join or Die Wanted – Plains of Terror Zombies”! These are the best looking western themed Zombies I could find.
The only problem is there’s only 6 model sculpts, so I flipped them on their axis in the slicing software to make 12 models. Once they are painted differently, they should blend in nicely.
For the bases, I went with Games Workshops 28mm bases mainly because WarMag’s magnets are designed to fit perfectly inside them, which I plan to use.
Lastly, I made sure each model was scaled to Dead Man’s Hands 28mm scale.
