Marvel: Crisis Protocol Expands with Guardians of the Galaxy Starter Set and New Dark Dimension Terrain

July 20, 2026 by avernos

Atomic Mass Games has three new sets launching this Friday for your games of Marvel: Crisis Protocol, taking us into space and beyond with the new Guardians of the Galaxy Starter set and Dark Dimension Terrain.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Guardians of the Galaxy Starter Set // Atomic Mass Games

The Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Guardians of the Galaxy Starter Set is a complete entry point into Atomic Mass Games' superhero skirmish game, giving players everything needed to start playing straight out of the box. Alongside the core gameplay essentials—including dice, measuring tools, tokens, stat cards, Team Tactic cards, and Crisis cards—the set also includes a full Guardians of the Galaxy affiliation roster, making it an all-in-one package for new and returning players.

The Guardians

Leading the charge is an impressive lineup of 10 iconic characters: Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, Yondu, Nova, Ronan the Accuser, and Cosmic Ghost Rider. Each miniature is packed with detail, offering hobbyists plenty of opportunities to paint and display some of Marvel's most colourful heroes—and antiheroes—while assembling a force that's ready for action on the tabletop.

Some Of These Guardians Look Like Villains!

More than just a collection of miniatures, the Guardians of the Galaxy Starter Set is designed to be the perfect launchpad into Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Whether you're a longtime Marvel fan or looking to dive into the game for the first time, the combination of a complete roster, all the gameplay components, and a highly replayable affiliation makes this one of the most exciting starter releases the game has seen.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Dimensional Terror Terrain Pack

The Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Dimensional Terror Terrain Pack unleashes one of the Dark Dimension's monstrous denizens onto the battlefield, depicting a terrifying creature tearing its way into Earth through a rift in reality. It's a dramatic centrepiece that brings the threat of an interdimensional invasion to life on the tabletop.

The expansion includes a single, finely sculpted terrain piece packed with impressive detail, making it an eye-catching addition to any Marvel: Crisis Protocol battlefield. Whether you're staging an epic showdown or adding a striking display piece to your collection, the miniature captures the chaotic energy of the Dark Dimension's invasion. I adore the fact that, on the rear of the model, a bin with all of its rubbish is being sucked up into the vortex. It's a great visual touch, showing the mini affecting things in the round, making it less static and front-facing.

Also included is a One-Shot Card that introduces unique scenario rules, giving players new ways to experience their games while making the terrain more than just a visual feature. Combining cinematic flair with fresh gameplay opportunities, the Dimensional Terror Terrain Pack is an exciting upgrade for collectors, painters, and Marvel: Crisis Protocol fans alike.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Dark Dimension Incursion Terrain Pack

The Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Dark Dimension Incursion Terrain Pack brings the twisted influence of the Dark Dimension to your tabletop, transforming familiar battlefields into warped and otherworldly landscapes. Inspired by reality-shattering incursions, the expansion adds a dramatic new visual theme while introducing fresh ways to experience battles across the Marvel Universe.

Inside the box are five terrain pieces, each designed to capture the eerie, corrupted aesthetic of the Dark Dimension. From jagged alien formations to unsettling environmental features, the highly detailed scenery provides plenty of opportunities for painters and hobbyists to create eye-catching centrepieces for their games.

Like the Dimensional Terror, this expansion also includes a One-Shot Card that introduces new gameplay rules, adding an extra layer of unpredictability and strategy to your matches.

I think the releases are a fantastic introduction into M:CP while some of them have been available before, like the Guardians; boxing them together into a single faction starter set is a no-brainer. We've mentioned it before when they started doing these, but it's a single access point, and it makes so much sense considering how the game is based on faction keywords and synergies. I believe some of the dark dimension terrain was available with Dormammu, so again its fantastic that they're splitting things like this off and that Terror is a mythosesque nightmare so two tentacles up from me.

How do you plan to fight off Invaders from the Dark Dimension in your games?
