Some of you are probably aware of Space King, the legally disctinct “40k like” universe and cartoon. [ @johnlyons]

The lads have now done a board game with miniatures!

It looks fun and I’d love to have those weird ass minis but (as always) the cost of it is a bit steep.

The basic pledge “Recruit – A copy of the SPACE KING: The Board Game at $20 off the retail price!” is 99USD. I would be willing to pay that but on top of that there will be VAT (19% for me in Germany) and shipping (40 – 50 USD for the EU)

So worst case would be 149 USD + 28,31 USD VAT = 177,31 USD [152,98€ at current conversion rates]

150€ for a “simple” board game that has a delivery goal of December 2027.

Maybe I can talk the gaming club into it as and addition to the library XD

I’d also be worried about the team having zero experience with the medium, which makes me think that a December 2027 timeline is extremely optimistic.

By the looks of the promo video they already have made moulds for the minis and test prints for the card stock. Or at least very good prototypes.

    We’ll see

    Those minis do look cool.
Not too sure about the need to use them in a boardgame. Cardboard standees would have been just as effective.

It will be interesting to see if this ever hits retail on this side of the ocean.
