Carolingian Plastics Coming To Victrix Miniatures’ Dark Age Collection

Victrix Miniatures are looking into the future of Pillage and their expanding Dark Age range with another set of brilliant 28mm-scale plastic miniatures. The Carolingians are on the way (this weekend!) and they're getting both an Unarmoured and an Armoured Infantry set to help start your warbands.

Unarmoured Infantry - Carolingians // Victrix Miniatures

We start with the Unarmoured Infantry for the Carolingians, which is going to be the first of the sets that you'll be able to pick up from Victrix (this week!). This set will come with 36 miniatures, each armed with spears (featuring the distinctive Carolingian crossguard) and a mixture of hand weapons. You'll be able to choose from swords, again with distinctive Carolingian designs, or a selection of hand axes and clubs for those soldiers who couldn't afford the best gear.

What's neat is that Victrix actually showed off the full sprue that you'll be getting for the Carolingians...

You'll also note that it features the unique Carolingian shield designs with all of their embossed details, with the addition of the artistic stitching and studs. You've also got plenty of flowing cloaks on offer so you can make your warriors feel very heroic as they sweep across the battlefield in your skirmishes.

The set will also come with a lot of different head options for you to choose from. There is even one that apparently looks like President Macron! Maybe you can create one of his long-lost ancestors. The set will also come with a bunch of items for making your command figures, like horns for your musicians, plus a standard bearer and enough components to make a "champion". Classic wargaming.

In addition to all of that gloriousness for the Unarmoured Infantry, we also got a first look at the painted Armoured Infantry that are coming out.

Hot on the heels of the Unarmoured Infantry will be the Armoured Infantry. As Victrix said in their update, this should fill a rather big hole in the Dark Age wargaming world when it comes to plastic miniatures for the Carolingians. You won't have long to wait for these fellows either, as they're lined up to be released next week!
