The vertical is fine @jjgrubb I notice George has a separate non-modular paint brush holder. I’m thinking i might go for that over a modular one.
Does anyone have to take their HobbyZone set up apart and store it elsewhere inbetween painting sessions? Is it good for this?
I have some of thier paint racks (non modular ones) and they are far lighter and can be deconstructed if needed. The modular units are quite substantial even by themselves and would still take up room if not set up for use. I suppose if you just got the rectangular box units, the magnets would let you create a tower of them you could store in a cupboard,
Do you mean these stands or these hangers @tobymagill?
I think i might build a mostly modular set up and put them all together on one or two or three big pieces of MDF or HDF that i can move from the table i’ll be using to the book shelves where i think i’ll be storing them. The book shelves i have are wide and deep and are adjustable in terms of height, but even so i might need to divide the set up into a number of parts horizontally, or vertically if i think there is too much weight because of the height.
What type of wood glue have people used?
@totsuzenheni – yes, i have two of the 26mm large paint stands (not the hangers). They slot together easily and will stand up/hold paint without having to be glued, so they can be dissasembled. However without glue they are significantly more fragile than the modular ones. I have tried picking them up and moving them around and i have never managed it without one of the levels moving out of place. However if you are imagining complety dissasembling them and storing them in a drawer somewhere, they would be fine.
I don’t think i want to set things up so i need to completely disassemble them but i’ll bear it in mind @tobymagill in case i need to. I’m hoping i’ll only need to disassemble in terms of pulling one group of magnetised parts away from another.
