About the Project
For many years now I have collected the Plot Device models from Lucid Eye. I have never known really what to do with them, but i had to collect them because Steve Saleh (The owner and sculptor of Lucid Eye) is obviously inspired by alot of the cultural media I have loved over the years: Micheal Moorcock, Groovy 60's tv, David Bowie, Clockwork Orange, New Romantics, Fields of the Nephililm. All combined into one beautiful crazy range. I recently painted a piece of scenery for a Dune inspired game, Sand, looking at the finished model i thought it reminded of 60/70's Sci fi art particularly Moebius. Light Bulb moment, I went and got my Plot Device figures and started painting. I had already painted Bowie i his turquise Ziggy outfit, the Clockwork Orange Ganger, and most of the time traveller/temporal agent.

Painting the Bus
I thought I would share how I repsint diecast toy vehicles for my games.
The process is similar across all vehicle types. Though on some cars I will choose to paint the windscreens rather than do the interior.
This bus is a 1/50th scale model from Solido. Lovely model with decals for most of the signs so made my job of repainting a lot easier.
This particular model was held together with screws so was easy to disassemble. Some models or riveted in this case you need to gently drill the rivet flange away do the parts can be released and reassemble with super glue.
Once disassembled the diecast painted elements are sprayed with a matt varnish. I then painted the interior in AK WW1 French Artillery Grey.Setting the scene
I had this Prisoner scenery unmade in a box from a couple of years ago. This is long out of production, I found this on ebay. On the telephone booth I enhanced the striped shade sticker provided by giving it an Agrax Earthshade wash folowed by a highlight of pure white on the white stripes and a bright red (Army Painter Fiery Vetmillion). I built the map board incorrectly so I had to save it with some plastic card surround.
Some lovely chairs from the same Prisoner set with a table made from a warlord 40mm base with ridge removed, a GW base and part of a plunger from a plastic syringe.
A Dinky Prisoner Mini Moke (reproduction) repainted. Please see following post for a breakdown of how I do this. All Characters Painted.
This is everything I have painted so far. In this post I will look at The figures, in subsequent posts I will look at scenery and give a tutorial on how I repaint diecasts.
I have a game idea in mind and have currently created three factions (still need to flesh out what the mission and goals of these factions are) I am going to use the character names given on the Lucid Eye site.
Regal Vanguarde Pryce, Compere of Le Cabaret Velvette (inspired by Jason King from the brilliant Department S) with The [] Terminus Olga Blok and Carmine Three Android Sleeper Spy.
His Groovines Titus Verne (Jerry Cornelius), his sister Julia (pink jumpsuit) and Candy Peoples, I am really happy with how her skirt came out.
Dapper Monkey Archie Borte 1st Viscount of Ruffley and two Alien infiltrators. The two Infiltrator outfits are based on actual outfits, the turquoise one from the cover of Ziggy Stardust ( this figure was one of the initial releases, now made available again, which I had already painted. and the gold stripped one from a photo.
The Temporal Traveller sadly having g to resort to London Transport. This fihure is one of three that were released initially, this guy is not currently available. He was already painted , but I repainted his shirt waistcoat and jacket.I still have three gangs of 7 miniatures ans the recently released Burlesque Dancer (she is in the post!) to paint.
