Corvus Belli has some more awesome Mounthaven Dwarf releases coming to their 32mm Fantasy skirmish game, Warcrow, this October. A new personality joins the cause alongside some much-needed support and a stalwart band of new warriors.

Sylvia Waurda - Warcrow

Sylvia Waurda // Warcrow

The first miniature is for Sylvia Waurda, who is a great support character and a way to boost your control of objectives. She isn't exactly a fighter but that's not why you're bringing her to your warband. The power "...and they showed their power!" is the reason you're taking her, giving an additional one conquest value to your allied units, which could clinch an objective at a key moment.

She also has the ability Insatiable Curiosity, which allows her to join an allied unit during deployment so you can make sure she's in the right place from the off. The miniature is also great, really homing in on the idea of her as an adventurer, explorer and recorder of great deeds. I like all of the additional gubbins and such on her back and that covering so she's sheltered from the elements.

If you need more aid, then you've also got the Mounthaven Supports set.

Mounthaven Supports - Warcrow

Mounthaven Supports // Warcrow

This set comes with miniatures for the Headhunter and the Bombardier. You can guess which is which! The Headhunter is an offensive support character and sniper who can mark and eliminate enemy threats from long range. He can also mark an enemy unit and make sure that he brings it down, wherever it decides to run off to and hide. Using Scout and Preferred Terrain, the Headhunter is able to get to all sorts of otherwise awkward places so that they can land a shot.

The hat and cloak make him look strangely like a witch hunter, which I suppose is a headhunter after different prey. The rifle having the various lenses on it is also a very nice touch and I imagine they flip up and down depending on what range the Headhunter is engaging at.

The second miniature is the Bombardier, who offers more offensive firepower from afar. A great way to give you some additional area control as that long-range cannon crashes down amongst the enemy lines. Being able to attack without line of sight is incredibly important and means the Bombardier is a constant threat.

I really like the hefty armour that the Bombardier is wearing and those strangely esoteric bombs that get fired from their back. Some awesome new miniatures for those diving into the Mounthaven Dwarves.

Last but not least, for the Mounthaven Dwarves, we have their Warriors.

Mounthaven Warriors - Warcrow

Mounthaven Warriors // Warcrow

These warriors are a versatile and resilient infantry unit that can adapt to all sorts of different battlefield situations. They are an anchor and an anvil to soak the enemy attack so that other Mounthaven soldiers can deliver the killing blow.

They also have their awesome transformable weapons, which can be in one of three modes. You can use rifles, a two-handed axe or an axe and shield. This means that they can take on the enemy in all sorts of different ways. A handy way to make the reliability of the Mounthaven forces show on the battlefield. The set comes with a Leader and three regular Warriors.

Sÿenann Alula!

Last but not least, we switch things up with another new miniature for the Sÿenann Elves.

Alula - Warcrow

Alula // Warcrow

The Alula is a support and defence-based character for use with the Sÿenann. This tactical sentinel can advance into any position, attack the enemy and secure strategic points on the battlefield. The Surprise Attack ability allows the Alula to appear engaged with enemy units and strike at them before they know what's happening. The Forward Observer ability also allows it to be a focal point for other units, so no enemy is truly safe.

Some brilliant new miniatures from Corvus Belli for use in Warcrow, giving you some new options for two of the best factions!

What do you think?

"A handy way to make the reliability of the Mounthaven forces show on the battlefield..."
