I’ve finally got the paints back out. Not much movement since last time but I’ve been playing with my new scale 75 fantasy paints. Much nicer than the regular – less shaking, more fluid and more vibrant. Not sure on the vibrancy as I’ve always been a grittier style. Trousers have had a base, highlight and a couple of washes. So almost done and next up is the black/grey areas. Batch painting for the win:)

One Wolfy Contemptor all primed up 🙂
One guy who’s been sitting on my painting table for a while is Leman Russ, I’ve been a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to do him justice. I finally plucked up the courage last weekend and went for it.
I used the same technique for my Space Wolves (I’ll post up a project blog at some point), which basically involved spraying with mech standard grey and then working up the shades with a drybrush. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of him in production but I’ll pick out some areas and how I did them.
Hair – done with Zandri Dust and then a wash of agrax earthshade.
Gold – burnished gold with army painters strong tone to give it some depth.
Face – Bugmans glow, cadian fleshtone, wash of reikland fleshshade
Base – zandri dust for the rock with brown army painter wash, the pedestals and floor are done with a heavy drybrush of ushabti bone. Pastel blue detail is Nihilakh Oxide
Furs – Rhinox hide base, scorched brown drybrush, calthan brown drybrush and finally a zandri dust drybrush

I’m very pleased with how he’s turned out and so glad I found the time to give him a go. Certainly not the best painting ever but it’s a nice and quick scheme and give great results.
I have been working on my goat…. I mean Screaming Antelope from Kingdom Death: Monster.
And hello all!
Not much to show at the moment, except from those, assembled two days ago (when I wasn’t sick…)

So made some progress on Ragnar (mostly in the bling department)
and got a start on the Contemptor
This is a 15mm WW2 Russian by Plastic Soldier.

Here’s todays progress. I can see no good reason why I can’t get the Masons finished tomorrow. Of course, I’ve just jinxed myself saying that.

Currently painting Star Wars Legion rebel fleet troops.
I have been working some more on my goat…. I mean Screaming Antelope from Kingdom Death: Monster. I’m just going to keep calling it a goat for now apparent reason at all. It’s coming along nicely for the most part, but I’m just not happy with the ribcage, what do you people think?

Still a ways to go on these two, but getting there…
I finished this guy up for myself the other day. Beholder from the wizkids line
