This month there is no painting competition, but a Spooktober challenge. You can show your Halloween or Orktober inspired minis. This got me inspired to paint some Iron Maiden models and is the reason why I started this projectblog.

Undead Eddie – Live after Death

Reaper Eddie – Dance of Death

Mummy Eddie – Powerslave

Asylum Eddie – Piece of Mind

Fear Eddie – Fear of the Dark

Sister Temperance

For the July painting competition with the Sinner and Saints theme I painted Sister Temperace:

Sister Temperance’s life before the Church involved owning a small dockside tavern in Boston, one of the rowdiest and most disreputable in the city (which is saying something). She kept order with burly bouncers, harsh language, and her infamous shotgun displayed prominently above the bar. Unfortunately, one incident involved liberal use of said weapon, and her sentence was either prison or the convent. Turns out the Sister took well to the holy life, and travels the West, bringing the Good Word to all who need it.

“Mercy is for the poor, homeless, and downtrodden. The Bible says not one thing about zombies.”

These are two versions of Sister Temperance. They are from Zombicide: Undead or Alive and were a Kickstarter strech goal.

To my surprise I won that month.

As said I have painted the survivors from the starter box with acrylics. I have tried to stick to the colourschemes on the cards.

Here are the Brawlers: Henry, Kassey, Carl and May:

The Faithfull: Thomas and Concepción:

The Gunslingers: Pablito, Molly, Meg and Turner:

And the Townsfolk: Jeb, Trixie, Jimmy and Hanna:

Starting point - Zombies

A couple of years ago I backed the Zombicide: Undead or Alive Kickstarter with some expansions. I wanted to play the game and think unpainted minis are a sin, so I bought the Speedpaint-bundle from Army Painter to give the slapchop method a go for the zombies. I wasn’t realy happy with the results it gave. Later I gave the zombies a touch up with acrylics, but they still weren’t to my liking. That’s why I didn’t post them earlier. The survivors I painted with acrylics.

Later I bought the Iron Maiden expansions and I started painting them for this months Spooktober challenge. That’s why I decided to start this project and post my earlier finished stuff also.

Here are some pictures of the diverse zombies, which maybe get an extra touch-up in the future.

Brutes:

And the Abomination, next to the Gatling Gun:

And this how they look when they are all in their plastic storage compartments:
