Happy Sunday CoGs, OTTers and Backstagers!
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday folks!
@avernos, if you ever want rid of those white dwarfs I will drive to Colraine and take them off your hands. For whatever dumb completionist adjacent reason I’ve always wanted to get a hold of the earlier issues, even though I too stopped getting them when they went shite. Doesn’t make sense, but there we are.
You could relieve some stress from Gerry’s roof beams
Everyone… we can all agree that John’s army has been raised by what Ben called out as Magical Pink-Eye, which Gerry helpfully pointed out does not exist in nature (do we really want to know how you get THAT?!). I think the memes we’re giving ourselves are going far afield now.
In an effort to avoid hobby boredom the point of going back to painting projects that have otherwise been abandoned is helpful to both clear out backlog and build the resume of “Things I Have Done”. The rotation of ‘similar but different’ hobbies might be helpful but that just seems like an effort to try and force things to fit. Sometimes, just doing something completely different is refreshing (I’ve started growing a few varieties of peppers).
Magical Pink-Eye – love it
Come on, I spent all of about 30 seconds making that gif and you give credit to someone else 😜
And to the least computer literate person as well. It’s an outrage. 🙂
🤣
Totes awks…
I normally just buy a single mini i like from a game i haven’t got to yet and paint it up just for fun. The fact that its a lone figure for a game i don’t own helps me not get down the rabbit hole.
I think that’s a great way to do things
Happy Sunday! My First XLBS in at least 10 years, good show chaps! I think for me it’s finding the bandwidth of time and space when operating hobby against responsibilities. When there’s no time to game there is no pressure to paint. Generally find it more relaxing putting your heart and soul into single figures than worrying about an army deadline these days!
Great to see you back 🙂 Definitely on that same page about army deadlines nowadays
Happy Sunday all……
Happy Sunday!
Abandoned projects that you come back so…sounds awfully like the Spring Clean Challenge 😉 😆
That could well be the saving grace of many a project
I not sure if its the gaming thing, a 40k thing or society tend, but I’ve noticed a big desire to play older game editions. I don’t exclude myself from this. Some lads at work wanted to play 4th edition, and I’ve haven’t been that excited to play the game in a long time.
That’s very cool – would be neat to hear how it went
Needs moar dakka!
Well done @johnlyons those are some good looking undead there. Very much looking forward to seeing them on the table next month.
I can’t say I’m good at finishing projects as I’ve got at least 50 unfinished sitting in boxes but I’ve tried not to just start something else when I’m getting a bit bored. Boredom will result if there is too much repetition without an end product to show for it. I try to get everything done in small enough batches and paint start to finish so I get the payoff of seeing the army growing. I’ve tried to focus hard on getting projects finished this year and so far have 9 different ones done.
Summers are bad for hobby – too short to spend days inside. Fall the hobby comes out, again, when it’s raining and turning gross.
Yay XLBS show time
A tribute to Christian Bale Gerry 🤔🤷
You did the father Teddy tour??
Was he the spoiles of war Gerry he won IN a game against you 🤔🤔🤷
Their taking the Hobbits to Isanguard 🤷
great show guy’s👌👏👍
Cheers very much for the GB. I finished up painting my 28mm Harris this weekend, and got him added to the project on Sunday morning. I’m very much enjoying the spaced out releases of these figures by Wargames Atlantic, as they act as really nice palette cleansers to break up bigger projects. I always like to have a few figures on standby to help with project burnout – sometimes a little change painting something a bit different is all that is needed.
Meant to say did you see the tank lawnmower I put up on discard John & Guy’s 👍
Thank you for the But Ding! You can’t burn orders to save a model but you can do that to steal initiative!
You only need around ten models per side (my current list uses eight)!
