After getting the family into playing RPGs it was only a matter of time before my son got into 40K. He's collected a small force of Ultramarines and now wants some characters. After seeing how much the characters cost I […]

After several weeks of assembling and painting, my opponent and I finally got a free weekend to get Shatterpoint to the table.

Azrakh the Annihilator is a World Eaters Chaos Terminator

Once upon a time, there were many metal miniatures that were played with nearly every day. Then, over the years, they were neglected and replaced by plastic and resin. Some of these miniatures never made it and ended up in […]

A friend of mine recently bought some Kill Team sets and seemed eager to have an opponent. Whereas I don't have the time or money to fund a GW large-scale army, Kill Team did sound like an ideal way to […]

With Battletech Finally getting more mainstream attention its time to jump back in the cockpit and spruce up my game.

The Goal is to build and paint a combat patrol without the traditonal boxset. I will atempt to build an Valhallan Combat Patrol with original models and some kitbashing. No vanilla Cadians in my army, lets go space soviet! Slava […]

Painting some Battletech models!

I'm a fan of the Rampant games and was over-excited about the arrival of Xenos Rampant and the release by North Star of their Scavenger boxed set. It turns out my collection has been lying in wait for this type […]

Building some Terrain ready for the release of Legions Imperialis

Past the core box of MCP, I decided to build my Avengers roster to diversify my choices when playing them. So I simply made a list of the available Avengers kits at the time (beginning of 2023), assembled, 'greenstuffed' and […]

Decided to paint up my 40k fellowship from Artel W.

Given the impending arrival of The Doomed I thought I would dig out some of my minis for a variety of Science Fiction games, hopefully to provide a bit of inspiration for anyone new to kit-bashing. I get strong The […]

Hi, fellow OnTableTop community members! First time Project poster here. I have a habit of buying into games and never actually finishing them, including Star Wars: Legion. The starter box had been sitting on my shelf for a number of […]

Missed spring clean but found an army in a box ! So digging out an unfinished / not fully built Nid army for 40K I thought I'd get it done to kick start 10th edition . Taking the skills I […]

My 4th year working with the Nova Charity and 3rd year painting an Infinity army for the organization.

There is no time for peace. No forgiveness. No respite. There is only war. The galaxy writhes in the mailed fist of all-consuming conflict. The oppressive Imperium of Mankind teeters on the brink of annihilation, beset upon all sides by […]

I have accumulated a lot terrain over the years. Some of it was kits and a lot of it was various garbage that you might think would make good terrain. This project will be focused on 40K style terrain, but […]

Building a 4x4 Zone Mortalis board for use in Horus Heresy 30k

I purchased the box set of Necromunda: Hive War a year ago and until now it's been sat on the shelf. So, although this ISN'T a Spring Clean Challenge, it is the inspiration for me to record my attempts at […]

Last Days of the Horus Heresy Diorama. For this Warhammer Horus Heresy diorama, I wanted to show the cost of this sprawling, Galactic civil war at the ground level. Space Marines fight to the death in the blackened earth of […]

A short(ish) story about the lessons of a hobbyist's first painting contest and the wandering the woods afterwards looking for answers.

After knocking out a few paintings i decided to base a new 40k army on them. They are not going to look normal....

A project that requires entirely new minis that I do not have and my journey to buy, assemble and convent if need be the troops and vehicles for the game Xenos Rampant.

For all my Star Wars Shatterpoint

A quick blast to create an accurate Ghost Bear force based on lore showing how to do this. Starting from choice of force to include the references, websites and tools to make a era accurate force. Can i get it […]

Dug out some old imperial guard for a refresh

From a online shop, a long long time ago (2018), in a city far far away (stockport) i got star wars legion

Not even the Space Marines are safe from the lure of Chaos. Whether they hail from the dark days of the Horus Heresy or turned traitor more recently, these baleful warriors combine their gene-given gifts with dark blessings and malefic […]

Cleaning and repainting craftworld Eldar. Developing out of my Giger's Genestealer project. I will continue using woodstain and inks to paint the models.

Building, painting, basing, and finishing a squad of buff soldiers from Wargames Atlantic, in a quick fashion to get on the table.

Many years ago I played dabbled with Necromunda and built a basic Van Saar gang which was not particularly successful and as a result I bounced off Necromunda. A friend has asked my to try it again and so I […]

Inspired by the excellent 'what if' series 'For All Mankind' and using some splendid 15mm sculpts from GroundZeroGames 'Moongrunt' series. Ideal for use with Xenos Rampant rules and the first starter forces will be built with that in mind (24 […]

So I pre ordered the A-A5 'speeder truck' and it arrived at some point in the distant past. The pandemic meant I stopped playing star wars legion but I'm starting to play Again and I'm inspired to finally build and […]

My Tau have been languishing partly done for going on 20 years. The release of the new Farsight model made me want to finally get the army finished. They are organised by 20 years ago rules, but I'm sticking with […]

Last May (2022) I, like many other people, picked up some Star Wars Legion starter bundles in the ‘May the 4th’ sale that Asmodee had. At that time I wasn’t getting very much done, but as a big Star Wars […]

Nemesis has been languishing, unopened, on my shelves for quite a while and I decide3d, on a whim, to paint the miniatures 9appreciating there are less than in your average Ameritrash game) and delve into the claustrophobic corridors of the […]

Re-staring my HH30K Iron Warriors

Choose your god wisely. What happens when a mere mortal has aspirations to emulate a higher power? When does a tutorial just become showing off? Does David get crushed by Goliath, or does the sling swing true once more? Choose […]
