About the Project
In this project I will paint an Empire of Sonnstahl army for 9th Age. It should also be usable for historical wargaming in the Renaissance era.

Landsknechts with speedpaint
Warlord Games announced a price increase so I quickly bought all the metal miniatures I wanted for this project. I also bought the speedpaint megaset from The Army Painter and used them on all the miniatures bellow. For details I still use normal acrylic paint and for metal parts (armour, helmets, weapons) I use Vallejo’s Metal Color range.
Prelate
For the first time in this project: a miniature that isn’t a leftover from a different project or was a present. This miniature I bought! She’s from Avatars of War.
Artificer
Another miniature I got from the same club member for our secret santa. What a wonderfull hobby this is, where people just give you stuff. 🙂
Volley gun
At my gaming club we organised a secret santa. I got these old GW miniatures from a club member.
Two more pikemen
My friend gave me two more pikmen to finish! Two miniatures aren’t the most spectacular entry in this project, but progress is progress!
Pikemen
I’ve painted 11 more pikemen.
Here all my pikemen (23) can be seen with the arquebusiers (5 + champion). All the miniatures my friend gave me, are painted. From now on I will have to buy my miniatres myself and paint them entirely by myself. 🙂
I need 17 more pikemen for a unit of 40 (yes, 40) and 15 more arquebusiers for a complete unit of 20 (not using the champion in this unit).
Sword and buckler
These minatures are “leftovers” from a different project. They are perfect as Imperial Guards in 9th Age. Ik will need a lot more of them for a unit, but it’s a start. 🙂
