Sadly, I’m on the wrong continent for Salute. Though I do hope to attend at some point. 2 things real fast. 1: Wasn’t John actually building a Sherman at one point or am I miss-remembering something? I’d swear I remember him and Warren sitting in a tank. 2; as always, yet another impressed whistle whenever foreground shows up.

Settling in for a day of Salute coverage here whilst building some trees from scratch. I was tempted by purchasing a load of 4ground ones but they are not quite large enough. Then they go an show off that awesome table and I start thinking who fights outdoors these days! Hanger bay plans are starting.
Really generous of the 4ground guys to offer that up as I am sure a set up like that will be pricey,,, but totally worth it.

Beautiful terrain set from a terrific company. There is a new equation for me: 4ground is having a go at this equals this is going to be awesome for sure.
If only I was able to travel I´d really love to see something like this as one of the first visitors to a fair as breath-taking and stamina-consuming as Salute. Nice to see Mr Dracs´ excitement in his face while on the verge of entering into the awesomeness of Salute for the first time. May it be worth it.

Why yes, that is quite an appealing package. The selling point for me is the glossy black finish on the hanger floor, which so nicely contrasts with the shining white of the armored troops. Well done.

This star wars is how I imagine it. I just received my star wars ligion starter box. it would be fantastic to be able to play on this 4ground terrain and that it will also become versatile in the future is a fantastic idea of 4ground

that landing bay is freakin awesome. Star Wars legion is screaming at me at the moment, but i can’t justify buying it at the moment as i’ve spent a lot on Imperial Assault, and until i know the minis are compatible, as i’de want to be able to use the Imperial Assault stuff in Legion (and vice versa)

Too late to make requests, but it’s cheering to hear Lucid Eye mentioned so early. One of the companies I’m most interested in right now (my Simians are primed and ready for paint right now).

That is an amazing hanger bay from 4 Ground, we where already talking about coming up with a Star Killer mini and running missions from the Force Unleashed. This would be perfect for the first missions.
I know its a joke, but I’d love to watch a plog of John building a 1:1 model tank out of commonly available materials. I think he may need some biger brushes though.

I think that table probably got the most attention of the show – whenever I walked past people were photographing it trying to get the most cinematic angle. Pretty epic and love the idea of modular skins

As a child I played with my Star Wars action figures, toy ships and micromachine sets. I would try and build sets using anything from books, blankets and pillows to actual playsets. This would be my childhood dream actually using this table. Just wow.

That’s a kit and a half. And how do 4Ground make any money if they’re just going to give enormous bundles of stuff like that away?
I got a bit of a talk through the new modular 4Ground set and it was just another item on a growing list of things I didn’t know I wanted until I saw them. It’s seriously impressive.
The entire kit is built on a grid based frame and you can leave floor tiles out and place inserts in. This allows for things like the trenches you can see in the hangar bay or you could easily create the smuggling compartments on the millennium falcon.
The doors are all articulated and will slide open and closed. A nice touch is that there is a tiny cog on each door that will also rotate as the door opens.
Being modular you can arrange it any way you like. However each individual module is essentially a frame + insert. You can switch out the inserts freely, they’re not glued in place. There are also curved wall pieces, you’re not tied to just squares.
On top of that modularity it is also based on “skins” so ghe same components can have different skins to really help change the way it looks. I don’t know whether the skins are removable, however even if they’re not, you could conceivably use the same frames and just by inserts with different skins.
I was told that there’s currently plans for Sci Fi, Dungeon and Post Apocalypse skins (however I mistook the Post Apoc skin for the Mos Eisley Cantina!)

Wow, that’s a seriously amazing prize. Especially as it’s modular so could easily be converted to fit all of my groups wargaming terrain needs, the options are literally endless.
