Perry Miniatures’ Napoleonic Ottomans Get Added To Their Range

Perry Miniatures released some new Napoleonic-era Ottomans for you to use as part of your 28mm collection, fitting in during the time period of 1790 to 1815.
Anatolian Irregulars Marching // Perry Miniatures
One of my favourite sets from the new releases is that of the Anatolian Irregulars, marching along with their trademark guns over their shoulders. I like that when you dive into the Ottomans during this period, you get to play with just the same array of bright, poppy colours that you'd expect from the Napoleonic period. I like the idea of individualising each of them with their own coloured trousers and tunics.
If you're seeking some more hard-hitting cavalry then you can also get your hands on two different types of Armoured Mamelukes. The first of the sets comes with Mamelukes armed with swords, charging forth across the battlefield.

If you'd like to thunder forth and smash aside your enemies with a spear, then you're in luck. You can also get a set of these Mamelukes, ready to ride down infantry and knock them aside as part of a devastating charge.

If you're not done with cavalry, then you can also get your hands on their Dragoons as opposed to the Cuirassiers, which would be the Mamelukes. The Provincial Sipahi are also rumbling forth over on the Perry Miniatures website.

Swap your spears and swords (for the most part) for rifles and make use of your horse as a way to get to where you need to be before you dismount and start taking pot shots at the enemy. They have some rather unique headgear that will be fun to paint. Another option for those looking to play around with a splash of colour in their army.
Bonus Calabrian Heads
As well as the Ottomans, you can also get your hands on a set of Calabrian Heads to use alongside the Spanish Guerrillas to make unique new miniatures.

This pack comes with forty of these heads featuring more soldiers with distinct headgear! The Calabrians rose up against the French between 1906 and 1811 and fought something of a guerrilla campaign themselves in the "toe" of Italy with a little bit of assistance from the British.
What do you make of the new miniatures from Perry?

The Ottomans are a very useful and unusual army for Napoleonic encounters and unlike the other nations they didn’t change much in appearance through the period so you can get a lot of value from a single army.
