Some years ago we created a Martian Army at breakneck speed to field against a WW2 Bolt Action Army. I'm now returning to the Martians to see what can be done to spice them up.

Warren, Gaz, and Lloyd are going to meet up sometime in the future to play out a mega game of 40K, Gaz bringing his Krieg, Lloyd Fielding his Imperial Guard, and warren sending out a mad horde of Orks! This […]

After what feels years of not painting 40k for me here I am back to it!

I recently backed a kickstarter called Lunar Auxilia by ThatEvilOne. It's all 3D .stl files. They are absolutely fantastic, i already have a Solar Auxilia army from Forgeworld but now 3D printing has come along so fast it's super easy […]

I got roped in by all the chatter and feel good hobby factor around this new rule set. Joined the Facebook group and posted my initial ship ideas. Don't really want to buy proper ships so will be hitting the […]

SciFi? Really? Naaaah, not my cup of tea. Well, at least not until now. OK, i like my Star Wars, but who doesn‘t? For me wargaming was all about historical settings to this very day. Now I came across this […]

With Stargrave soon to be released, I've decided to put together some crews, space pirates and aliens ready to start playing once the rules are released.

Slowly building my clone legion for star wars

Since the beginning of all things. The Emperor of Mankind has stood as the light in the darkness. We sisters, ordained and consecrated in battle, defend that beacon against all who come against it – Traitors, Heretics, Xenos – we […]

All things that I am up to with relation to A Billion Suns

Just a little something I put together for A Billion Suns

Useful for a variety of games but all build with 'bitz' and sprue leftovers of other systems. Scale, erm.. small?? ('fits on a plastic flying base' sized!). Also stuff for the RPG, paper, plastic, resin... IDIC (if you know, you […]

Well I had some Space Hulk 'stealers to back up a particularly good sculpt I found. Perhaps a Kill Team Magus?

I saw Star Wars at age 5, in 1977. It was life altering. So I have started to paint a collection of models from the New Hope, Rogue One, and Mandalorian eras of the storyline. Miniatures are ... well, not […]

As I get older I find I have less time... So I'm revisiting some old Star Wars Prepaint Miniatures from Wizards of the Coast to rejuvenate them for skirmish gaming and Role-Playing Games.

Painting the guard models that have been bought over the years

After expressing interest upon the discovery of the famous Let's Play episode, getting posts from the creator for new ships, acquiring a felt hex-mat, and realizing that our Battlefleet Gothic's smallest ships... were too big, it sadly stayed unplayed. Then […]

Each year I like to try and set a challenge for the year, usually painting some Kickstart miniatures boardgame or other. Due to not being in a great place at the start of 2020, it wasn't really possible to make […]

I have challenged myself to build a diorama that stretches my skills into the world of water effects

When I first heard about A Billion Suns, I just knew that this was the moment for me to get into Space Battle Wargaming. So, as soon as the book came out I bought it from my FLGS. The problem […]

As a war gaming Grognard from the later part of the last millennium I have been collecting my Dark angel miniatures since 2 ED warhammer 40k. The chapter has had several squad additions over many years, but in the last year […]

Warlord Games Mystery Box gave me 5 WWII British Infantry, but no weapons sprues. Luckily I had a bunch of extra sci fi weapons from the pair of Riverhorse Resistance (USA) sprues I got. So I decided to go space […]

This project started with me making a base for Maggie the Magheriba Guard (and secretly painting her in the background). Anyway, I still have many more unpainted Infinity models lying around, so I'm re-purposeing it to show more of those […]

I brought GF9's Aliens game, a game I have wanted for years, so how could I not paint the models!

EUROPE ONCE AGAIN IS UNDER INVASION BUT THIS TIME FROM AN ENEMY NEVER BEFORE SEEN! SO THOUGHT MY B.E.F PROJECT NEEDED AN ENEMY,(forgot i had started this) SO WHO ELSE BUT THE NECRONS. going down the WAR OF THE WORLDS […]

A simple Star Wars diorama inspired from episode four - A New Hope.

With A Billion Suns allowing fleets to return to the stars it's time to dust off some Fleet Action Narn Regime ships and update them. As the book of G'Quan says “There is a greater darkness than the one we […]

My attempt to paint a copy of the Blackstone Fortress game. I had intended to have all the expansions and the extra miniatures from the Annual and White Dwarf but as I missed out on two expansions and one of […]

A step by step instruction and pictorial project report of how I built my Crimson Fists (or Ork if I feel cheeky) display board. Useful for displaying miniatures and armies for tournaments, displays, and photography. While specific to one army, […]

This project follows the building, painting, and play of a Warhammer 40k (9th Edition) Necron army. Join us as we follow the Awakening, Mustering, Decay, and eventual fall into Madness of Amonhotep IV and the Undying Artificers.

Epic Armageddon is my go to game. Best combined arms rules GW ever wrote, and probably one of (if not) the best such games I ever played. I started my force quite a few years back and have painted, so […]

A start on a Gamma Wolves army. Gamma Wolves is the newish mech game from Ash Barker of GMG via Osprey books.
