About the Project
I have decided to help keep my motivation, to do a weekly update of what I have been doing. This will hopefully stave off the fatigue of the never ending pile of potential, and also reassure me that I am sort of making progress. The project will have a range of miniatures from different genres such as kingdom death monster, burrows and badgers, moonstone, marvel crisis protocol, Star Wars shatterpoint and everything in between. The last count was about 850 miniatures, that need to be painted. Normally they are then stored away but at least they will be completed.

Week 14
5 more models down so the blood bowl team is more than 50% complete.
Just 5 goblins and a troll to go.
The goblins are on the go and there is a small chance they may be competed tonight – they won’t be but there is a chance depending on motivational levels.
Week 13
Only 2 miniatures completed this week as I have been away.
A black orc and goblin from the Black Orc Blood Bowl team.
These are test pieces to see how I was going to paint the rest of the team and they turned out pretty much as I expected.
Hopefully this means I will be able to crack out the rest of the team reasonably quickly.
For details on the paints used I have put in all of these details on my Blood Bowl project.
Week 12 part 2
The war band together.
I am not sure whether the Little Owl fits in with the rest of the band but it will do.
For the colour scheme I did just go to an opposing one for other warband which was white and red so these are predominantly black and blue.
When I get back from holiday the next project up is a black orc blood bowl team that I am painting for the local shop. That way if any new people join the league it is alright for me to be a painted miniatures snob.
Week 12
As I am away for a week and there is no chance of any else being done for the next nine days, I thought I would pat this early.
The remaining 4 members of the second starter warband. I think I may have gone too bright with the blue but I quite like the colour so it is staying, realism is not always mandatory.
First the fox.
Then the squirrel.
The cat. Can anyone see the BOW Easter egg on his back? I also need to redo the eyes.
And lastly the weasel.
Week 11 part 2
So I realised that I didn’t paint all the miniatures from the starter set A, instead I mixed a figure up from the starter set B.
Unfortunately in my mind it really bothered me so I quickly painted up the correct figure.
So the below is the Terrier Knight.
For the couple hours I spent on it, it turned out alright.
So the correct set image is
On the plus side it does mean I completed an extra mini this week so good times.
As a slight negative I was given a blood bowl team to paint up so that is an other 13 mini’s to paint.
Oh well never mind that puts me back up to over 900 miniatures to paint.
Week 11
Three more done. I think that it puts me down to 894.
I now have a completed starter set from burrows and badgers – not counting the already painted mini’s.
First up I have a rabbit squire.
Then we have the Mouse squire
Then the hedgehog cleric
I tried to make these coherent as a squad so mostly kept the colour scheme the same. The only exception is the little owl but I think they work together in style.
The last picture shows the other current starter band that I am probably going to look at next. Although I have also recently primed my Blackstone fortress miniatures so may do those to hopefully power through the grunts.
Week 10
Surprisingly I am still keeping this going.
Another 3 miniatures completed this month. Properly under 900 to go. I am due to win a black orc team after finishing second in my recent league but have agreed that I will paint it and gift it back to the shop plus also painting the winners team so they can do the same. So, does that add to my total or not? For my sanity I am going to say that it doesn’t.
The first model completed was the Otter knight from the burrows and badgers stater warband. As I have already completed the little owl from the same band, I thought I may as well complete the rest starting with this guy.
I did complete him twice, the first time he looked alright and then I took some photos and was just a bit meurgh. So added a few additional touches.
First photos
The actual finished miniature. All I really did was add some additional recess shading and some red to the miniature but think it helps elevate it slightly.
The other two completed miniatures are from Kingdom Death Miniatures. Nightmare Adam and an axe lady who I will properly identify later.
I think I am going to move away from KDM painting for a while and focus on something else. I will finish the B&B starter band and then I am see what else I am in the mood for.
Nightmare Adam
Axe lady
I can’t help feel my colour selection hasn’t helped this model but it is fine now and it is one more off the list
Week 9
Four more models completed.
The little owl rogue from Burrows and Badgers. The basing didn’t go well but it will do.
The panda monk from Scalebro. I built it a few years ago and from what I remember it was a hit to build I am missing the topknot and the bootle but I think it looks good without it.
The other 2 models are from Kingdom Death Monster. The Tough Guy and the murder victim.
These three miniatures now take the total minis to paint to under 900. Which is good I guess.
First images are the little owl rogue.
The Panda Monk
Next up is the murder victim.
The last miniature is the tough guy.
Next up should be some more Burrows & Badgers and some KDM. But we will see.
I think I will focus on those two sets of miniatures for the next month or so, but will see what whimsy takes one’s fancy.
