About the Project
I have decided to revisit all my colonial miniatures and give them a bit of love after being stored away in the Garage for so long. I have four armies that need a tidy up and revisit some 19th century theaters of war and why the hell were we there? "Because we're here lad,no body else, just us"

British cavalry
Most of my cavalry is fine but my camel Brigade needed a little refreshing. This side project for the week has kept me occupied but I should hopefully be back to work in Monday now that I'm well again and passed it in to the wife

Spent the day at the kitchen table rebasing and painting in brass buttons. The British forces in the Sudan are an interesting painting mix. Only 5 years after the Zulu War and no redcoats. Each unit has a distinctive look with different shades of kahki or sky grey. The rifles still have their black leather work. This week off has given me plenty of time to revisit this collection and had me writing lists of new things to add to it
Black watch and Gordon Highlanders
Time to move in to the British forces in the Sudan on their mission to rescue Gordon in Khartoum.
I've added some details like these Sgt stripes and Stewart tartan for my Blackwatch piper
Got too much hump
I realized I have 24 camel mounted tribesmen and I'm not sure I need that many. Did very little to these before varnishing and completing my mahdist army. This force is a great half way house between my Zulu and Afghan armies. S force that wouldn't have looked out of place fighting crusaders

I've got half my mahdist infantry done today with rebasing and highlighting. I've added some patches if colour to their clothing as was the style
