Gale Force Nine Preview Two New Pre-Painted Terrain Ranges
July 13, 2026 by brennon
Gale Force Nine previewed even more of their pre-painted terrain, which is coming soon alongside their partnerships with War Scenery and Thunderhead Studio. Leading the way, we have some Sci-Fi terrain that would be impressive in representing Dawn of War-esque tabletops.
Gothic Sector: Legion // Gale Force Nine
Gothic Sector: Legion is a new version of the existing fully-painted terrain range for the Gothic Sector. It would work really nicely for games of Warhammer 40,000 but it would equally be great for all manner of both High Sci-Fi and Grimdark Sci-Fi wargames. It's "basic" enough (and bright enough!) to fit in with a range of games.
I really like the new, squatter Bastion, which could work as a good centrepiece. The Defensive Walls would also suit a lot of set-ups for the current edition of Warhammer 40,000. A new set of pre-painted Ork-like terrain would also be great as a partner to this terrain, I reckon.
HexTech Terrain
The second set of terrain shrinks down from 32mm scale to 6mm to 10mm scale wargames. The HexTech collection expands with the Riverside Communications range.
HexTech: Riverside Communications // Gale Force Nine
This set comes with great new terrain for an outpost that might be found out in the wilderness. You get the Barracks, Comm Stations, Monitoring Station and the Power Station. All of them come on their hex templates so that they can fit into a lot of maps that you might have in your collection.
All of this terrain is pre-painted, so once again, you just crack it out of the box and it's perfectly ready to use on the tabletop. I have been buying a fair amount of the new Battlefield in a Box range and it's been absolutely perfect for your wargames if you don't fancy painting. It's also reasonably priced, which helps!
Will you be picking up this new terrain when it lands later this year?

I really love their design, especial the legally distinct Dawn Of War terrain but the pricing is a bit much for me personally. I wonder how much cheaper they could sell their terrain if it was unpainted.
Unpainted would be better, I usually repaint anyway.
