Dead Earth Miniatures released a new set of their Sci-Fi miniatures through the Spectre Miniatures website recently. The Socialites from on high are coming down to mix with the dregs of society, with a full new gang set for you to pick up as 3D-printable miniatures and in physical form.

The Socialites come from Stephen May, founder and designer at Spectre Miniatures but also an exceptionally talented ex-Games Workshop miniature designer. So, whilst they have turned their attention to modern military matters, they still enjoy dipping their toe into Sci-Fi and miniatures that wouldn't look out of place walking the rusty environs of the Underhive.

The Socialites are those upper crust of the city that still maintain control of their assets and power with a splash of violence. They bring exotic weaponry and exotic choice in clothing to skirmishes on the tabletop as part of a full gang from Dead Earth Miniatures.

The Socialites are led by the Champion above and you can then pick up a selection of Gangers from Spectre Miniatures either individually or as part of a full gang which you'll get to see at the end. All of them are offensively ostentatious in the perfect way and come armed with a mixture of different weaponry that they have broken out of the vaults.

One of the great quotes that May included alongside the miniatures was "We have all the time, all the money, and all the resources to burn you all to the ground". Awesome. I'd believe it too! I love the over-the-top hair for the various members of this gang alongside outfits that wouldn't look out of place amongst the ranks of the Harlequins!

The Champion of the Socialites is joined by a selection of Gangers (above) and then also a few Juves that you could use to represent the younger members of your noble house in games like Necromunda. I also think these miniatures would be absolutely perfect for use alongside the game of Planet28, which features a lot of artwork that mirrors the miniatures you're seeing here.

If you were looking to make use of these miniatures for a game like Necromunda, I think they would be excellent for someone running a Venator gang. Venators allow you to pick from different walks of life in the Underhive to craft a cool, bespoke gang. I think they could also work well mechanically as Eschers, and that's not just because of the hair and the heels!

Eschers get access to a lot of toxins and other illicit substances and I would imagine that these Socialites do plenty of drugs when they're not hunting down the scum of the Underhive. You could also work out a way of including Spyrers in your gang's mix, representing some of the nobles within the Socialites who have decided to take things a step further.

As mentioned above, you can get these miniatures individually, or you can pick them up as part of the full Socialite Gang. It is also worth going to check out more of the Dead Earth Miniatures collection, as there are some great figures there inspired by Oldhammer games. Check out Stephen May on Instagram as well to follow what they're working on next.

What do you make of the Socialites?
