About the Project
A spring clean of my old Martian Empires collection with the hope of taking my forces from Earth to Mars and adding some as senery

Rogues
For my rogues I've got two stargrave bodies and mixed them up with Western kits. For a colour I've gone for a 19th century convict uniform. I imagine two convicts doing hard labour on Mars escaped and did a ned jelly style job on thdir costume adding armour. In reality some convicts would call their uniforms the slops or the magpie. 
Martian free state
I based this crew on the Boars but in mars. Colonial settlers who want create their own nation. This allowed me to mix up the look a bit more. 
The Didcot brothers who settled mars in an attempt to sell tea to the Martians. It wasn't very successful. I used bulldog mini bodies with heads from the great escape games Western kits

The quarantine 37 book had rules for a two gun shooter so the man with no name here acts as a gun man 
Fagin with his pickpockets picks allowing him to break into any container Captain crackenthorpes specials
Orderlies voce and cook. They perform a lot of the fetch and carry work for the unit. They fill the positions of recruits and runners. Both were made using stargrave bodies with Western gunfighter arms and bulldog kit heads.

Captain crackenthorpes leading his unit on missions for the crown against pesky martians

Sapper Philips acting as a bit of tech support. I tried using a perry miniatures head which is a bit smaller but still works.

Stargrave goes to Mars
After playing a couple of games of stargrave I thought I'd pick up the bulldog box set and see what sort of crew I could put together with a few conversations. 
I've added a few slouch hats from the great escape games Western plastics. I've put together enough for a crew and a few hired guns 
A couple of rogues 
Spunge Woods
A little experiment with some upholstery spunge creating some woods for my small scale games. It's a good way to cover large areas but Martian Empires is 18mm and I think it looks better with my napoleonic 10mmReed weed with a hint of purple
I thought I'd save money bon finding some funny colored plants and just paint some some that I already have. The added colour breaks up all the red
