We're off to the Warmachine & Hordes EU Masters Champions Tournament over in Brno in the Czech Republic! Justin and Ben will be heading over to take a look at the competition which runs from the 21st to the 22nd May.
The winners from a tournament of 1,000 players are coming to Brno at an event hosted by Black Oil, and Privateer Press where they will battle it out to become the Warmachine Champion Of Europe!

Talking MK III Sculpts With Doug Hamilton

was in right at the start of hordes release and had a blast learning warmahordes but has it often does life got in the way but now really wanting to dive back in to mk3 .out of interest can any one point me in the right direction regarding the backstory has I have most of mk2 to catch up on

I’ve been thinking about getting into Warmahordes for a couple of years now. I am thinking this new edition would be a great time to start! At the moment I really like how the Hordes factions look more so than the Warmachine ones (though I do really like Convergence).

I cant think of a better time (for choice) and worse time (for my wallet) to get back into miniatures war gaming. Warmachine and Hordes are games I have had a couple of “false starts” with in the past and this release has got me going back to the PP webpage, reading fluff from some older No Quarters and the rulebooks I have laying around and playing “Tactics” on the PC in anticipation of Mk III release. Keep the information flowing !!

Please Justin, if you can find any info about new Cephalyx of there will ever have a starter box i’ll be in debt with you, i miss the big box they released a few years ago since i didn’t have any money at that time but right now i’m ready to take on their mind shattering embrace and be a good ant of the big mind hive. Looks like Black Oil is getting famous, such a great venue :). The folks are cheerful, the food and drinks are great. It has a soul of its own… I hope Bratislava will have something similar in years to come.
Super excited to see some Warmachine and Hordes content here on Beasts of War. Hopefully this will be the beginnings of much much more, especially with the new edition just around the corner.
Really cool also to see BoW send out “roving reporters” to cover events. If only you’d have come to the 160 player Warmachine Welsh Masters in Cardiff last weekend you’d have been able to see me finish second from bottom, lol. Thankfully I redeemed myself somewhat with 3rd place Best Painted Army in the painting competition 🙂

cheeky request time but could you get more snapshots of the armies, maybe army lists as i for one would like to know the mindset of these players and what they deem a champion winning force. Army composition at this level just has me wondering as i am unlikely to move in such circles and see first hand

Loving what I’m hearing about MkIII. My only reservation is the PVC plastics used in the starter kits. People have SAID they look good… but from what I see above, the detail looks pretty soft and very average (as expected from PVC).

Just had a look at the trolls in a bit more detail. Love the ‘lock, love the looks… but the last ones (photo x942) head just doesn’t grab me. Looks like they’ve tried to make it humanesque… but it just doesn’t work! What is it supposed to be, a Pyre Troll?
I didn’t think a Mk3 was even possible, the sheer number of units and casters and abilities to balance against each other is insane. but they’re doing it.
Here’s hoping they never need to make an Mk4. If making Mk3 took them a few years double the number of units and it’ll take them a decade lol.
New stuff looks nice, can’t wait for lock and load to get my hands on mk3!

Really looking forward to Mark 3! As someone who was frustrated with the direction Mark 2 seemed to be taking towards the end (too much infantry, not enough warjacks), I’m actually excited that they’re trying to make warjack-heavy lists viable again! 😀
