After months of weighing up the pros and cons of 3D printing, a couple of weeks ago I pulled the trigger on an Anycubic Mega S. 🙂
As the resident Anycubic expert, I am looking towards @dignity for your experiences and advice on working with the Mega, and of course, advice from anyone else is equally as welcome. 🙂
I have mainly been printing models from Printable Scenery, the first few prints went well although they did show signs of warping, once I moved on to full wall sections I started suffering failed prints, I put this down to warping that was significant enough for the print to lose adhesion to the bed. After re-levelling the bed and suffering more failures I started to use ‘mouse ears’, this process eliminated the failures.
Is this issue something that is common? I am printing pretty much with the standard normal settings but with a 10% infill and 45mm/s speed.
It would be great to hear any other advice and tips you have on working with the Mega.
Thanks in advance
@dustnrubble, good to hear bud, if your having build plate adhesion problems there are two things I normally look at, one you’ve already done, levelling & the initial distance of the hot end are a huge part of getting a good print, the second thing is look at what temperature your printer bed is set to, if its too low you wont get enough grip from it, I always run the ones in the office at 60c.
