Fans of quirky fantasy miniatures will want to keep an eye on Goblin City 2, the latest Kickstarter from sculptor Rossy Sculpts, launching on 12 June. Building on the charm of the original Goblin City range, this new campaign introduces eight highly characterful goblin citizens that bring everyday life in a goblin settlement to the tabletop.

Rather than focusing on warriors and adventurers, the new collection explores the more mundane side of goblin society. The miniatures depict a variety of non-combatant goblins, each with its own distinct appearance, size, and personality. From wide-eyed villagers to eccentric city dwellers, the range embraces the wonderfully strange and varied nature of goblins.

The aesthetic immediately evokes the work of celebrated fantasy illustrator Brian Froud, with exaggerated features, whimsical expressions, and a sense that each miniature has its own story to tell. These are goblins designed as characters first and gaming pieces second, making them equally appealing to painters, collectors, roleplayers, and wargamers looking to add life to their settlements and scenarios.

The miniatures are being cast by Ramshackle Games and include sprues that can be repurposed as scenic elements, providing hobbyists with additional opportunities for basing and terrain projects.  This is a touch that I love that saves wasted material in what would normally go in the bin. Instead, you get little pieces of scatter terrain or resin scenery for dioramas or large bases.
