About the Project
A couple of years ago I picked up Blackpowders Rebellion supplement. from Warlord games. Black powder games are hard to get into as it requires a lot of miniatures and my original thought was to delve into Napoleonics but the rebellion book sparked my imagination.I find the wars for independence to be very interesting and colourful with its variety and setting. This project is a chart of my progress as I began collecting the armies required to recreate the scenarios in the supplement and the terrain involved.

British Light infantry
Adding another unit for muskets and tomahawks. I wanted this unit as they look very different from the usual redcoats with the round hats and trimmed down jacket
Liberty to slaves
In 1775 the Governor of Virginia had an idea. Freedom would be granted to any slave with a rebel master if they fought for the crown. Thousands did just that although the idea horrified many Americans. For the first time the British army had black units with some great names. The Jersey shore volunteers, Jamaica rangers, mosquito shore volunteers, Ethiopian regiment, black brigade and black dragoons of the South Caroline royalists. One of the grievances in the declaration of independence "excited domestic insurrection amongst us" is a reference to this policy. When the war Was lost Britain evacuated 3000 loyal now free slaves from new York much to American displeasure as they wanted their "property" returned. God that the British kept their word as best they could. 
Last batch of minis
Thus is my final purchase of 28m minis for this time period... Maybe. I have covered all the options in muskets and tomahawks. 
Just have a couple of units to paint up. 
First unit is the British legion. A cavalry unit of loyalist colonists led by Tarleton who had a ruthless reputation. This was an infantry heavy war so it makes a change to do some cavalry 
Lee's legion
After completing the British legion which was a loyalist unit I started work on Lee's legion for the Rebels I started last night and finished them this afternoon 
Last minis
My last batch of 28m minis for this range. A camp set up and a wagon for objectives. I still plan to do a smaller scale for the future but for now I've completed my collection for skirmish games. I'll do some collection shots.
