Frostgrave Gets Darker With New Cultist Knights, Witch and Apprentice Miniatures
June 10, 2026 by avernos
North Star Military Figures have been showing off some new minis for Frostgrave, bringing the darkness to Felstad. No longer do you need to pretend that your mage is there with a bunch of do-gooding paladins and heroes; now you can loot and pillage for your own dark gods and power!
Frostgrave Cultist Knights // North Star Military Figures
What immediately caught my attention about this release was the concept of heavily armoured cult warriors serving as the elite champions of strange and secretive faiths. Frostgrave has always appealed to me because of its rich setting and opportunities for storytelling, and these Cultist Knights feel like they fit perfectly into that world. The idea of fanatical warriors acting as bodyguards, enforcers, and templars for mysterious cults opens up all sorts of possibilities for creating memorable warbands and unique characters.

I was also excited by the modelling potential of the kit. With enough parts to build ten armoured cultists and compatibility with previous Frostgrave plastic sets, it looks like a fantastic source of conversion opportunities. I enjoy kits that encourage creativity, and being able to mix components with existing Frostgrave ranges makes it easy to create distinctive warriors, cult leaders, or even entire themed warbands. The combination of heavy armour, varied equipment, and a sinister aesthetic gives the kit considerable versatility beyond its intended role.
Witch // Frostgrave
The announcement of the accompanying Witch and Apprentice miniatures made the release even more appealing. Together, they help reinforce the dark, mystical atmosphere that makes Frostgrave so engaging. I was also pleased to hear that a female version of the regular Knights is planned with compatible parts, as that should provide even more options for customisation in the future.
Witch's Apprentice // Frostgrave
The Witches have a fantastic, animalistic/druidic feel to them. They really give off the vibe that they are more attuned to nature with the bones and skins instead of some robed mage in a library or tower, and while they're made for Frostgrave, they aren't so heavily swaddled in clothes that they could be used in other settings very easily. The Cultist Knights are available to order now, while the Witch and her Apprentice are coming shortly, so if you're a Frostgrave fan, keep your eyes peeled for their release.
