Unaffiliated painted so far.
So Punisher used to have Winter Soldier hanging out with him here in the Unaffiliated section, but now Winter Soldier has been added to the SHIELD affiliation, so now Punisher gets to hang out here as a true lone wolf. Seems kind of appropriate really. Oh, I’m currently working a repaint of Punisher (and Winter Soldier), so hopefully that’ll be up soon.
My project received a Golden Button.
Thanks to the community for this. This blog has been a really positive experience for me and I’m so grateful that the people at OnTableTop have created this tool for us. You guys are awesome.
"I'd ask you to surrender... but we're really hoping you'll put up a fight..."
Finished up She-Hulk. I had a lot of fun blending her muscles and finding where I wanted the light to be reflecting off of her. It felt like an exploration and was really satisfying. I decided to go darker with her skin tone, which I’m still not entirely sure was a good idea.
I used entirely GW paints on her. Here’s the paint plan:
Skin:
- Caliban Green
- Kabalite Green
- Warpstone Glow
Hair:
- Nocturne Green
- Vulkan Green
- Sons of Horus Green
Purple:
- Naggaroth Night
- Xereus Purple
- Genestealer Purple
White:
- Corax White
- Apothecary White contrast used to shade
- White Scar
Metal:
- Iron Warriors
- Iron Hands Steel
- Ironbreaker
- Stormhost Silver
- Agrax Earthshade
- Nuln Oil
Base:
- Corvus Black
- Dawnstone
I also used White Scar and Abaddon Black to add highlights and shades to each color.
"I'm Daredevil. Not even God can stop that now."
Was able to finish Daredevil tonight. What a fun mini to paint. At first I was worried that being 95% + red would make for a boring mini, but there’s so much detail to the model that it was really fun going in and picking out the details and making the model come to life.
Paint Plan:
Red:
- Rhinox Hide
- Khorne Red
- Mephiston Red
- Evil Sunz Scarlet
- Wild Rider Red
Flesh:
- Knight Questor Flesh
- Cadian Fleshtone
- Kislev Flesh
Grayscale:
- Abaddon Black
- Corvus Black
- Dawnstone
- Corax White
- White Scar
I also used White Scar and Abaddon Black to highlight/shade the red.
"A thousand souls to burn. Look into my eyes, your souls are stained by the blood of the innocent. Feel their pain."
Finished Ghost Rider this weekend. I think I’ve put more thought into this model than any model I’ve ever painted. I repainted the flames twice before I finally landed on this style. Combing that with getting the OSL of the flames and the NMM of the bike right made this a real challenge to paint. That being said I’m really happy with how he turned out.
Paint plan (all Citadel products):
Grayscale:
- Abaddon Black
- Corvus Black
- Dawnstone
- Corax White
- White Scar
Hellfire
- Flash Gitz Yellow
- Yriel Yellow
- Fire Dragon Bright
- Troll Slayer Orange
Flame OSL
- Iyanden Yellow (Contrast paint)
Inhumans painted so far.
Never heard of Inhumans until I started painting them. Then again, I’m a normie when it comes to comic books.
Still to be painted/released
• None! (for now, anyway)
Hard to find a quote for a character who basically never speaks. Black Bolt ready for the table.
Finished up Black Bolt this weekend. Black is a color I continue to struggle with. How much grey to use when highlighting is something I keep going back and forth on. Trying to find a good balance.
Paint Plan (all citadel products):
Skin:
- Catachan Flesh
- Cadian Fleshtone
- White Scar
Everything else:
- Abaddon Black
- Corvus Black
- Dawnstone
- Corax White
- White Scar
"I am the face of the Inhuman nation."
Finished Medusa this weekend. She was really fun to paint. For anyone who hasn’t started on her yet, it’s a really wise idea to paint her separately from her hair. The way I did it was attaching her face to her hair (which looked super creepy, btw) and painting that and her body separately. Made it much easier to paint and allowed me to utilize dry brushing for the hair without needing to do a bunch of corrections afterward.
