The Spooky Fane Of Nyrro Comes To Steamforged’s Warmachine

Steamforged Games are unleashing the spooky for Summer, it seems, with a new faction and a range of excellent 35mm Fantasy miniatures for use in Warmachine. The Fane of Nyrro, born out of Dusk, are going to be reaping their way across Immoren.
Dusk - Fane of Nyrro Army Box // Warmachine
If you're looking to dive in, then one of the good starting points is the Fane of Nyrro Army Box, which comes with a host of characters, elite units, warbeasts and more for you to use when playing as them on the tabletop. We also got a bit of fluff for those interested in the theme behind this force...
"Shadows coalesce and rush from the darkness as the Fane of Nyrro descend, a ravening tempest of steel and claw. Caught in the grip of a relentless hunger, the eldritch slake their thirst using their enemies' precious life force to fuel their schemes and machinations.
Ancient creatures of myth and blasphemy, the eldritch lead from the fore, confident in their immortality. No blade can pierce the shadows they slip between, poised to strike. For thousands of years, they have waited. Now dusk is their herald, as the Fane of Nyrro returns to the Iron Kingdoms once more."
Leading the way for this particular force, we have Ashmael, Keeper of Whispers. He has been a sinister presence in the shadows for centuries. He misdirects his foe into a trap so that his assassins can leap into the fray and cut them down. You've got to keep him happy somehow...
Ashmael // Warmachine
The rest of the set works as a good way to bolster Ashmael and his plans on the tabletop. You get an elite army that can excel at both Command Skirmish-level Warmachine games. It means that you've got a good grounding for your first games but also your larger games where you're going to be coming up against more fearsome and deadly foes.
Jylvana // Warmachine
Sythyss Overseer // Warmachine
As well as some great characters leading the way for your army, you'll also find some deadly warbeasts! The Strygon and Vordak can be given different loadouts to suit your army.
Strygon // Warmachine
Vordak // Warmachine
The Snapping Maws and Claws of the Strygon are good for slicing through light infantry, whilst the Vordak can unleash its Poisonous Barbs that will help deal with heavy infantry and other warbeasts, perhaps even the odd warjack if you're lucky.
The rest of the force is made up of infantry, those keen and elite killers that Ashmael has brought under his wing.
The Klyvenesh // Warmachine
Blood Sirens // Warmachine
Fane Stalkers // Warmachine
The full contents of the box are as such, so you've got a good breakdown of what you'll find within!
- Ashmael, Keeper of Whispers (Warlock)
- Jylvana the Tormented (Character Solo)
- The Klyvenesh (Character Unit)
- Strygon with Snapping Maw and Claws (Light Warbeast)
- Vordak with Alpha head and Poisonous Barbs (Heavy Warbeast)
- Sythyss Overseer (Solo)
- Blood Sirens (Unit)
- Fane Stalkers (Unit)
As well as the main boxed set, Death's Whisper, you can actually pre-order some of the miniatures separately alongside a bunch of alternative build options for the warbeasts from the box. You can actually see more from the Fane of Nyrro, including additional Warcasters/Warlocks and elite infantry.
Gunslinging & Hellslinging
Last but not least, we have the Hellsinger Phantom, which ties into the creepy, spooky, undead theme that we're seeing play out here.
Hellslinger Phantom // Warmachine
Bearing a striking resemblance to the Cygnarian Warcaster, Allister Caine, it seems like this phantom might have been created from a sliver of his soul. The Phantom, whatever its origins, mimics the way that Caine fights on the battlefield, blasting away with magelock pistols. A deadly assassin that has no qualms about taking out whatever target is set for it. As a Mercenary, the Hellslinger Phantom can be used with Dusk House Kallyss, Cryx Necrofactorium, and Orgoth Reaper Covenant armies.
What do you make of these new miniatures for use with Steamforged's Warmachine?
