Soon as I saw the socket in the Helion it looked like there was trouble ahead.
Needs pinning.
Personally I don’t understand the reason for making this a metal model.
Wonder if it will be stable even if it is pinned. Good luck keeping it upright if you need to go on some iunclined terrain! lol
Does look excellent though
Oh dear… I hate to point it out, but one reason the harness chain may have gone on so easily is… you put it on backwards (the “amulet” part attaches to the belt, while the hook end attaches to the glider)! (For those with the book, check out the models on p.75.)
As for the kit itself, I just don’t understand why they made it: it comes with an agonizer, but only one beastmaster in a unit can carry an agonizer. So, we have a metal kit for a unit, where if you want to run more then one you have to convert every one after the first.
I would have much preferred a sprue of just heads with that type of helmet, so we could convert a box of Hellions into beastmasters.
That would have made A) really good sense, but when does GW do that? and B) too convenient for GW’s customers, and we can’t have that.
Really wish GW bagged the “whole metal model” method of releasing minis and converted over to conversion packs for base models (no pun intended). For example, with the Beastmaster here, release a metal/resin torso and head to tie in with the Helion plastics.
GW’s missing out on profit, but smaller companies are then able to fill in their ranges with small conversion packs. It’s a bittersweet relation really. But I’m all for the little guy getting some love.
