We're back for day two of the Flames Of War 4th Edition Boot Camp as the budding generals get stuck into their forces and begin to play out more games and get in a bit of hobby time too!

a couple of the questions I have at this point:
I play Americans 1943. And I was wondering why they haven’t released more of the new formation sheets.
And will the digital forces charts on the forces.flamesofwar.com be updated to this new format, or will I have to buy the new ones seperately?
Really Looking forward to this!!! We have just returned home from a 9 month deployment! just in time for some awesome 4th edition action!

what happened to “Jumbos Lead the Way”??!!
Do Aircraft range in every time now with bombardment attacks from bombs and rockets?
Jumbos lead the way is gone, it’s just the mistaken target rule now.
I believe aircraft self spot for there own bombardment and they range in as usual. They come in on a 4+ now and if shot down they don’t return..
Put some very bright light up (sun) over those tables, and turn on the heat to a nice 44 degree Celsuis, to get that blury hot visions over the sands, and have a real desert feeling when pushing those tanks across.

Man, this release looks great. Never much cared for the desert war, but this may turn me around.
This stuff has never really taken my fancy until now, but I reckon I could really get into desert warfare.

Thanks guys. I’m new to gaming and I have been binge watching your battle reports and tutorials for weeks now trying to find the perfect game system for me and my son to enjoy together. Your videos have been so helpful. We live history and are looking at Flames of war and bolt action, but I think the model size of flames is up our alley. I’m excited to see how 5th edition plays out.

Like Warren, FoW was my first foray into historical back in 2008. Haven’t looked back since and I am really looking forward to 4th ed!!
So many tanks! That map is killer and those 88s look sick! I wasn’t a huge fan of this period of the war, but this boot camp is starting to change that.

This is the first boot camp I’ve tuned into and it seems like it’s not only great for the people who go , but it brings the community together to one place I defonatly feel more connected to the community

I had a girlfriend who ran a games shop when it first came out, so I started to collect it then. Sadly my interest in the game died with the relationship. This is really peaking my interest

Looking forward to getting to try out the new rules; Mid-war’s been my favourite era, and I feel like it hasn’t really gotten much play, at least locally. I am a tad disappointed that Italians/Americans/Vichy don’t appear to be on the immediate horizon, though, as a French armoured company is on my to-do list in the not-too-distant future.

Thank you for the comprehensive coverage – and a comprehensive event. Amazing. I played a little in 2nd edition and moved into Bolt Action, but 4th edition looks great and I’m thinking of coming back…

Another great day of gaming and viewing. Might have to revisit FOW, i found FOW 3 a little slow with lots of rule book stoppages! It looks like the new rules (and cards) will speed things up considerably.

Very simple, @gunnyhighway . If the players won, their units moved forward. If the players lost, they moved back. Other than that, units moved, attacked, and defended historically,

Bootcamps are really good to catch up with. Its encouraging to see armies getting assembled quickly. The Western Desert has generally left me cold as a theatre in WW2. Increasingly though I am becoming a Battlefront fan and seeing this all come together I will have to pick this up.

Hey, maybe for once I’ll actually win one of these. I’ve got a buddy that would love those Brits, and I had already been thinking of trying North African Panzers even before news of the edition change came out.
Nice game tables. I’m a big fan of the sponge padding hills and rocks.
The more I see of this gamethe more I start really liking the idea of 15mm gaming.
I have not played FoW before but I am going to now. I really like what I am seeing.
Just love the desert campaigns, It sounds like the list building is much less confusing than in 2nd and 3rd edition
Seems like the 4th edition has moved much closer to the Team Yankee ruleset. Is that a fair comment?
I´m so looking forward to get my copy of the new rules. And to get my v3 sticker next weekend. I i should be so lucky to win that mega bundle. i will give my oldest son, the chance to get into the game, whit the new rules. And the bootchamp vidieos, will be a great help, learning the rules.
overall i wonder which of the two forces will prove to be the better? I feel the the germans have a good chance but seem to be falling short of the mark, very interesting
What a cool battle. The difference between the two versions is quite subtle, but it makes very interesting game play and can result in a complete different play dynamic.
