Ogres all the way. Now if they would ever update the figure of Grokagamok to something a touch more imposing than a warlord with a wood axe. “Decapitator”, indeed. And, of course, a mammoth, even if they did steal its ballista and give it to the goblin lizard.
I imagine at some point they will do a new Grok, especially with Jesse’s warlock coming this summer the ogre characters are pretty much complete and some of the nicest that Mantic have made to date
A great looking unit to add to games.
Got my wee crunchy bois a little while back. Hadn’t spotted there were two-handed fellas in there, so I’ll be digging them out as I’m short of those. Been pondering Grok, as I already have the model built up from the KOW 1 Kickstarter (yes I’m that old). Any ideas greatly received. As you say changing the axe-head is a go-to option, but beyond that its a challenge without losing too much of the character of the model with his head and left arm.
The new resin Ogres are beautiful. Lovely sculpts all.
Mantic Ogres are a bit marmite for some, but personally, I prefer them to GW’s chubby guys. I wish they didn’t look quite so knock-kneed, but overall I am not disappoint.
