Ben got a chance to sit in with Burrows & Badgers creators, Oathsworn Miniatures. Of course, he had to stop off with them and delve into the brilliant world they’ve created.

IMHO the absence of starter sets has hurt B&B take up. Thanks to Ben’s enthusiasm I’ve invested in the rulebook but haven’t made the step to buying minis. KS may be the breakthrough they deserve.
Don’t let the starter set thing stop you CoxJul. I literally just bought cool models to get started and it all works just fine. So easy to point up and build warbands it really isn’t the hurdle you’d think. Go on sir. Dive in.
This is the game that I will be making an effort to start this year. Every time I see the models I just get the urge to play.

These models would make a nice change from regular D&D races that I play at the moment.
Always makes me think of Redwall Abbey when I see this game. Looks like an absolute blast.
Same here.It would only take a few tweaks/house rules ( not a lot at all to be fair ) to have the good creatures of Mossflower defending the Abbey from say Cluny and his verminous horde.
Fairly sure that that was one of the influences on this, so it’s probably a good thing that it does remind people of Redwall. 😉

Glad to see more starter sets for these smaller games, it’s always easier to commit to trying a new system if the minis and peripherals are readily available.

This is by far one of the best Miniatures Games I´ve played for the longest time. I love the Sculpts, the rules are perfect to introduce new people into the hobby… and now, with the new boxed starter Warbands it is a lot easier for beginners to join this cool game.
Burrows and badgers is one of those games that have had such an impact, especially on those not usually into your typical wargames.
The minis they have are amazing as well, i didnt realise they had a started set

Ben’s enthuisasm for the game really rubbed off (hehe) on me. Now to see if I can’t get my girlfriend into this as well, and hopefully my son as well in a few years

The minis and the buildings match up ever so well.
Painting the minis is very rewarding and thanks to encyclopedia, biology books and such like everyone has something to get inspiration from for furs, snouts and stuff. Splendissimo.
Ben certainly has me intrigued by this. Could be a great way to get my daughters wargaming.

As someone with young kids, constantly on the look out for games and miniatures that they can be introduced too, that aren’t too “maturely” themed. These hit the sweet spot of appealing to all ages of gamer!
My kids will realy love this.
I do like their models but have resisted so far. Was very tempted by a couple of their buildings to use as Sartarite dwellings I may yet still succumb.

I’ve just been introduced to Burrows and Badgers through Model Box and bought the rulebook. This game looks fantastic and the wife is keen as well which is great for me!!!!

I’ve never met the Lovejoys but they seem such nice people and it is great to see Burrows and Badgers get so much traction. I’m pretty sure I have backed all the Oathsworn kickstarters and will be saving my pennies to back their next one.

The Burrows & Badgers minis are amazing and look such a joy to paint.

The B&B minis are really nice, and I’d love to see Ben do a Let’s Play/demo game on camera for it. Bought a couple of minis a while back, but haven’t got around to painting them yet, so will have to remedy that at some point (possibly after I’ve got around to getting more to do a full warband so I can paint the whole thing together). More minis coming out is a good thing as the range only covers a small number of the possible combinations from what I can recall (which is fair enough considering Oathsworn are a small company and the sheer number of races and wargear combinations would make multiparty plastic kits impractical even if they are able to make some).
Edit: what’s in the starter warband? Had a quick look at their site and can’t seem to be able to find it. Got an idea for a theme for what I want to do for my warband when I get around to doing it, so wondering if the set will fit with it. If it doesn’t, then that’s just an excuse to paint it up as a second band to use to loan to people to lure them into playing the game. 😉
@lordofuzkulak – the starter warbands aren’t on the site yet (hopefully by the end of today!) We only sorted them last Wednesday, and we were off to the Expo the day after… but we’re back now, and they’re on the ‘jobs’ list for this afternoon. 🙂
As for covering all the possible combinations, TBH I’m not sure we’ll ever manage that! We’ve got over a hundred minis in the B&B range now, and we’ve barely scratched the surface! But I’ll be sculpting as fast as I can from now on… 😉

So great to meet these guys, lovely stuff as ever and the new sculpts look awesome.
The similarity to Redwall caught my eye, I’ve never been that into miniatures but this game has definitely piqued my interest. My husband bought a rulebook and some minis and I’m looking forward to getting into it. Looks like it will be a great intro for our boys when they’re a bit older as well!

ve loved it from the moment it came out, and demod the game at my club last year on our openday. And it is a great gateway game imho to get the GF into gaming… surely worked here with all the cute animalsI just picked up the book.
