About the Project
I'm planning a birthday game for next year. As my birthday falls on may the fourth we usually play starwars. But as I'll be 50 next t year it coincides with the anniversary of the declaration of American independence. So why not do another rebellion again an empire

Birthday gaming session
Finally had the birthday game. It took over an hour to get folk to pay attention but once it got going everyone had fun. Everyone had a unit to control and the card driven system of muskets and tomahawks kept everyone on their toes. The colonial forces were trying to gain control of the hamlet from the British
The brits and Germans deployed across the middle of hhe table while the Americans moved in from 4 different areas. They found it difficult to get close to their objectives. A well placed cannon shot from the hill had continentals running as they tried to cross a bridge and were kept at bay by musket fire.Getting out the 28m

Thanks guys
Thank you very much for the feedback on this project. Smaller scale goes look great and will be used. The point of using a system designed for 28m with Smaller scales is something I've been thinking about. I might try that with eagles of empire franco prussian war and use the 28m minis for muskets and tomahawks which now covers that conflict. For my birthday game I have created some unit cards for folk so I'm not flicking through rule books. For this I got some forces together gor muskets and tomahawks Rebel army complete
I powered through and completed my rebel army in all it's colours. I still have xlme cavalry units for both sides to do but I have everything done for the scenarios j had planned but I'm still planning on swapping to 28m and muskets and tomahawks for my birthday game. These smaller chaps will see some action at a different date. They may be dull to paint but once complete a force does look good on the tableGetting bored now
I'm still plugging away at the rebel forces but I keep forgetting to post what I'm doing. I've found it very slow as I keep getting distracted
I only have one more militia unit to do and some officers. However I'm beginning to think that blackpowder might not be the way to go. From experience I know that my friends like the spectacle of my birthday games but they also like something narrative. I'm thinking thus small scale and system might be a bit slow for them. Now I've nearly painted everything I might look at a different scale and rule system Moving on to the rebels
The American rebels have a whole range of colour schemes fir their forces far beyond the usually seen blue. The blackpowder rebellion book and perry miniatures boxsets illustrate this with some guides. The early war has lots of confusing schemes as every state and unit had its own ideas. It's also hard to nail some uniforms down.
