I personally have a different take on this, it’s more to do with the availability of plastic 28mm figures than if the game fits into a fantasy or historical genre. In terms or overall gameplay I see no difference […]

Pledge: Finish work on a monster and start another
Here goes for a big think on the topic
Historical wargaming recruitment, I don’t think there’s much that can be done to catch the fancy of people without their initial interest and some well painted minis on a board. I agree with the previous sentiments of of the built-in interest of old guys. I…[Read more]

Pledge: Get some more units finished for the SCC Dogs of War. We are at the 2/3 point and I don’t feel like I’m far enough progressed to get everything finished the way I’d like. I’m also distracted by Kings of War 4th Edition which I really like the look of and I’ve found a few bargains online so more on that after the SCC is ov…[Read more]

Planning to use this with the Ghostbuster RPG from Westend Games which was produced in 1986. (hopefully Halloween this year) These plans could then be scaled up to ‘Dollhouse’ size l…[Read more]

Here’s mine. He is the Saladin free give away miniature from Salute this year. He’s made by Wargames Atlantic. Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub was a Kurdish noble who rose to rule. Certainly noble enough. I’m actually using him as the Emir of Bornu-Kanembu for my Darkest Africa Savannah Knights army.

Thanks for the button! I’m finishing up the rest of the mooks as we speak — hopefully I’ll get the game to the table next weekend. I’ll do a quick battle report/review after I get a chance to play.

Answer: I really don’t care much for historical gaming and from my viewpoint it’s always been a club of old men who have a build in interest in history. You can’t recruit that. They either are a historical wargamer or not.
