Ere we go: a brand new WAAAAGH!

About the Project
Back to Orks, I like the clan Bad Moons; this army is for me. Trukks to be bashed with a Taurox, a Rockgrinder, and the Battlewagon, with extra parts from the Dakkajet kit. Ghazghkull will be my own war boss in mega armour conversion. A Mork or Gorkanaut? Lots of mega armour. A jet! Battle wagon from the Necromunda hauler kit. As the books said once: ‘ERE WE GO!

Day two: mostly built, needs a gunna
Pretty much built now. Couldn’t find a way to get the driver (who’s on the wrong side!), to fit after building, so glued him in with his steering wheel and squig-on-a-stick.
Also put a squig as blackout for the headlamp, and one on the wrecking ball chain end.
Added plates carved out of various trukk parts, and the spiked bumper.
Trukk-trakk number 3 WIP
Having finished my commission, I got stuck into the third of the trukk-trakks for my new Orks.
Kits used:
– Trukk for frame and rear deck, sides
– Battlewagon for trakks, and …
– Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy for the front end and tires (I like the finished hood look).
And done! Trakk-truck 2 is finished.
Popped on the cockpit glass (it’s just a press fit with the opening pinching the gun), and this trakk-trukk is done!
On to another boyz mob now.
Waiting for the varnish to dry
While waiting for the varnish to dry, I took this photo of the crew – the grot will likely be hidden when the cockpit glass is installed later.
Day three, trakk-trukk done, crew next!
Similar to the first trakk-trukk, I followed up painting with IJA Dark Parched Grass, then Dunkelgelb, finally contrast Imperial Fists yellow to brighten the yellow.
Rusty areas got a drybrush of Rust, followed by USN Light Ghost Gray, and a wash of Space Wolves Grey. Metals were done with USN Light Ghost Gray and then Space Wolves Grey contrast.
Next up, the crew!
Trakk-trukk two: WIP painting
Primed the trakk-trukk, gunner, crew commander, and grot turret gunner in Vallejo Black by airbrush.
Using my custom Brundleshit Brown and Rust Vallejo primers, I blocked in most of the trakk-trukk.
Since yesterday I also added a bunch of Orky features: numerous plates, the exhaust system (I tried to bash in an exposed engine, but it just wasn’t feasible), as well as rails.
Not shown is the clear cockpit for the forward turret; I painted the lines of the frame in flat black primer, and used a toothpick to gently remove any over-paint. It’s ready to be fitted at the very end …
Trakk-trukk day 2 WIP
A long project, but it is coming together. Used my Dremel to cut out the area for the turret gunner stolen from the Jet kit. Lots of bending and cutting of various parts from all over, and I have only to sort out the engine exhaust now!
Trakk-trukk #2: WIP
The next trakk-trukk is underway!
Four kits will go into this, plus plasticard odds and ends.
1. Ork Trukk
2. Goliath Grinder
3. Ork Scrapjet Buggy
4. Ork Jet
this was the pause point from the first day – looking good, I think; so much fiddly cutting and bashing to get it to work!
