I suspect that thanks to Internet and crowdfunding there isn’t really any need to do big announcements at a few select conventions.
We’ve seen it happen to video games (E3 used to be the hot event for new games).
Even electronics shows like the CES at the start of the year is getting less impressive.

UKGE is 3 days by the way. I only go on the Friday normally as it’s mostly shopping for me.

Also, what I hadn’t seen before. They do a crowds shot at the very and. And barely anyone in the row 3 and up is clapping hands XD

I think the “biggest” news was the D&D Warcraft and Star Wars announcement. And that also didn’t make that big of a splash overall.

Funnily enough I only saw the video today. And either they had a separate audio track at the end or the audience was silent during the Star Wars reveal.
