I’m probably older than most posters and grew up before the internet ‘took over’ everyone’s lives.  I read a lot of drivel and ignore it.  Most of the time I feel sorry for the posters of the drivel, clearly they have too much time on their hands, other times I just wonder if they meant what they said or just ‘banged out’ a quick comment without thinking.

When I was a child there was a rhyme I heard about ‘sticks and stones’, I didn’t realise how important that message was.

I don’t think censorship helps at all.  I think it stops people maturing and getting used to dealing with ideas and people they fundamentally disagree with.  In a nutshell, it is part of the destruction of ‘tolerance’, in the real sense of that misused word.
