Justin has actually got some time to get involved with this particular Boot Camp. So, he picked up the PHR Fleet and has been gleefully putting it together.
He also has some plans for the paint scheme but some of us think it might make them look like a bunch of space bananas!

Banana yellow…
I was actually thinking about this. A lot of my friends are suggesting I paint my PHR in the same way as my Eldar. (An elegant, smooth shaped race? Wonder why I like em!)
So bone carapace, black secondary colours (inner hull?) and warm metallic bronze. Opinions?

I think that would look very nice, believe the weapons would hold very nice to the bronze since you would be getting a bunch of guns to contrast the flats.

Do the units named after Greek mythological heroes carry any traits of their namesakes? My favourite mythological hero is Hector because of his mix of pride, determination and boldness? Does that mean that the unit is like a mid level tank that can take punishment as well as deal heavy blows when it looks as though all is lost?

Banana yellow has possibility, personally I think PHR is perfect excuse to have an attempt at Chris Foss’ DUNE pirate ship concept art
I’m assembling and painting a friend’s PHR for him. He did his Dropzone guys brown and bronze, so I’m thinking the smooth sections will be brown with a bronze hex pattern via an anarchy models stencil, with the tech sections silver and the glowing parts a complementary colour, maybe a deep red

see ive been contemplating doing my PHR fleet in Dyno-rod orange which is my favorite color, Bananas are fine its not the normal color which makes it unique
besides if i get them nice an orange i can do a tango attack surely?

Banana Fleet… Throw in some Shaltari Emeralds too for the orange in the middle, some white-red Scourge frigates, and you have your Fruit and Seafood salad ready 😀

Bright and vibrant go for it it will make a nice change of pace from grays

Well then Justin will luckily not be in the same battle space as me so I don’t have to worry about him failing. A good strong Yellow Main Hulls with lots of the inner bits Black with metalic silvers…. Testing will be needed.

Some bright colours, never going to go astray. Especially when a lot of the UCM will be painted Battleship Grey or was it Naval Grey?

I like that idea of adding Black, but a Black front fading into the yellow in the middle to a yellow back. That might look cool! The black from the scoring of going into the atmosphere!

So Justin has the Banana Splits Fleet from the planet Hanna-Barbera in the Sid and Marty Kroft Sector. The ships are the Fleegle, the Bingo, the Drooper and the Snorky..
Let me guess. His fighters are called Banana Buggies….

Don’t do the banana hammocks, go crazy and do something that will make Romain proud. The 3 colours ups with the shield designs would be a great start.

So make the small ships with green edges as if they were not ripe.
But more importantly, you have to make a battleship in the banana pattern that presents itself after a long time in the fruit basket, many brown dots! It will not be pretty, but legendary 🙂
Then, since it’s getting close to Christmas, take a torpedo ship and paint it as a wrapped up Christmas gift.

If I had this I’d have to do them in a Tron style. Black for the xenomorph looks but with a nice light blue highlight to give a little deffinition.

I think it is a great colour scheme that will really stand out on the tabletop.
Fully support the banana, be great to see lots of different colour schemes being used.

It is nice to hear that they go together so easily, however bright yellow does sound like a strange colour for PHR, will just have to wait and see how it turns out.

I can’t look at Justin without the beard… I just keep finding myself wishing that the magic beard will suddenly appear… Or that he dresses up as a War Boy from Mad Max…
I’m not sure if Justin had any choice BUT to go with PHR after shaving the beard….the lines all match up! 🙂

yellow dazzle paint scheme different, PHR remind me more of killer whales so a black n white may be worth trying?

@dignity :Maybe use some ‘alcad’ type paints to get a candy-yellow look? Or try just a glossy look with a few coats (hmm.. not GOATS, spelling) of gloss varnish?
